Rationality vs Rationalization. I guess the difference between the two has been the biggest takeaway from my first 2 months at ISB.
Was wondering why we dont teach the same in schools but was then conflicted about whose interptetation of rationality do we teach?

Converted my friend to utilitarianism..convinced him to hang out with the boys instead of his wife...we are 5 she is 1...now we all are doing an empirical analysis on the size of diamond earings that can get him his happiness back...

We celebrate business leaders in their ability to use #pathos to evoke an emotional response in their consumers. I wonder if that is how a narcissist rationalises emotional blackmail. The question however is why - are the business leaders right but the narcissist wrong..!!

Thinking about my last responsible leadership class. Role playing as a manager and an employee, most people chose to lie to their counterparts. Fun fact, it seemed most of us felt pretty good about outsmarting each other. Wondering if we missed the whole point......

Tried utilitarian reasoning with my mother to stop her from cooking Bitter Gourd..turns out its the best way to get your ass whooped at 30..

Came across an interesting thought. As a formalist if I approve stealing...then anyone can take whatever they want...which implies there cannot exist any private property...but no private property means there cannot be any stealing.

Read an article long back about Steve Jobs faking the iphone launch in 2007. When I first read about it, I thought his launch strategy was ingenious. After my responsible leadership class at ISB, wondering if it was wrong.
