@davidsamuelps All processors need an SDK (homegrown or standardized). In the old days, it was Cisco homegrown (human prone). Now (in Cisco boxes) its standard P4, developed by Cisco. S1 as a standalone SOC (e.g. 3rd Party) does support your own homegrown P4 SDK.
@davidsamuelps To add to @robertcsapo there are multiple CDR5M PHYs, for a total of 3.2 Tbps of MACsec & WAN-MACsec. The aggregate is more than any single SOC (in the industry) can provide ๐
@ntwrk80 The analogy I use is a PCB is like crazy forest of trees. The air does not flow the same, from opposite directions! It will hit different obstructions, and redirect in different ways. Only a well-designed system, like an orchard, can have predictable (reversible) airflow.
@ntwrk80 In other words. The system (specifically PCB, but also the full chassis layout) must be designed from the start for reversible airflow. So, the processors, etc. are cooled equally, regardless of which side is intake
@ntwrk80 Yes, you can reverse the fan rotation... but that's only part of the solution (the easy part)! The other part is PCB board layout. Where processors & heatsinks are located and how they're oriented (e.g. some are closer or farther from the intake).
