Giovanni Ribisi on shooting opposite Jon Hamm in “American Hostage” as separate camera crews captured both men in conversation: ‘We were essentially doing it live. And we got to the point where it was like one or two takes with all of that coverage. And we were able to do it. So a lot of that stuff is just immediate. It was kind of like doing a one-act play every day.’ #MGM+

In Jon Hamm mood. American hostage is really good.

Idk if it is popular enough, but Giovanni Ribisi deserves every award possible for his role in American Hostage

In this exclusive clip from American Hostage, Kristoffer Polaha and Giovanni Ribisi face off as the psychological thriller continues to unravel its deadly hostage situation.

Inspired by a harrowing true story, the MGM+ series follows radio reporter Fred Heckman as he’s pulled into a life-or-death crisis when a hostage-taker demands to be interviewed on his show.

American Hostage airs Sundays on MGM+.

American Hostage
An incredible story, beautifully executed, and Jon Hamm was phenomenal.

I finished Mad Men a while ago and honestly felt a little lost after it. So when American Hostage was recommended in @roshdioo 's Space, I was really happy to find it.
Thanks for the great Space and for putting me onto something I might’ve otherwise missed.

Giovanni Ribisi is putting on an acting clinic in American Hostage. @AmazonMGMStudio Favorite character in a decade.

After more than four years of labor and love—beginning with Shawn Ryan’s first meeting with Jon Hamm in April 2022—American Hostage has finally reached screens. @paulsalfen talks with Ryan, co-creator/co-showrunner Eileen Myers, and director/EP Adam Arkin about the long haul from acclaimed podcast to MGM+ psychological thriller, the game-face intensity of a cold Winnipeg shoot, a stellar cast led by Hamm as radio reporter Fred Heckman and Giovanni Ribisi as Tony Kiritsis, and the deliberate choice to humanize every side of a harrowing true story rather than deliver easy answers. The eight-episode series premiered with two episodes on September 20, 2026, and continues weekly through November 1.https://t.co/QbtYopot86

That’s a different question as to whether it was a wise decision to make this particular movie at that budget.

But as a moviegoer a ticket to this movie costs the same as any other and I think it is worthy of your cash.

@ShawnRyanTV Re: Digger

A "risky bold choice" has a budget of $40 million.

$160 million is corporate malfeasance.
