MTETWA & NYAMBIRAI LEGAL PRACTITIONERS 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
This year my law firm, Mtetwa & Nyambirai Legal Practitioners, celebrates 20 years of unwavering commitment to justice, human rights, and standing up for our clients. Check our video of our event to celebrate this milestone: https://t.co/qycQ6zf1Sx
It's a wonderful reflection of the journey, the people, and the purpose that have shaped our firm over the past two decades. From the vibrant dance moves, to the incredible food, to the powerful speeches which brought much laughter and perhaps a few tears, it was a day filled with joy and gratitude.
We celebrate not only how far we’ve come, but also the values that continue to drive us forward: integrity, courage, and a deep commitment to standing up for what is right.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey — colleagues, clients, and friends. Here’s to the next chapter.
This is the problem that the second republic has created. People no longer want to go and work and be productive but can do whatever it takes to bootlick the system in order to be rewarded. Desperately looking for a car. What kind of a crime did we commit?
"We want an electoral system the citizens can trust" – Hon. Chikombo
Hon. Chikombo delivered a passionate rejection of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (#CAB3) in Parliament, arguing that the proposed changes fail to address the real issues facing Zimbabwe's democracy.
According to Chikombo, the Bill does not eliminate electoral toxicity, heal national divisions, or strengthen reconciliation. Instead, he warned that it centralises power and takes decision-making further away from ordinary citizens.
"Election toxicity is not removed by extending terms, but by reforming power," he said.
He argued that Zimbabwe does not need fewer elections, it needs better elections that are free, credible, and trusted by the people.
In one of the most striking moments of his presentation, Chikombo said the Bill "transfers power from the citizens" and sends the message that "their vote is dangerous."
Watch the full video to hear his detailed arguments and decide for yourself: Does Zimbabwe need constitutional amendments, or does it need electoral reforms that restore public trust?

As we open our throats for the weekend, the anti-#CAB3 gospel must be taken everywhere in churches, pubs, small or big houses. We must take it upon ourselves to talk to another person. Educate them about the dangers of #CAB3. We mustn't be ashamed of the gospel #RejectCAB3
🟥 As women, we are well represented in parliament by Hon. @gladyshlatywayo!
We all saw what happened to @DougColtart, and we hear the speaker of parliament asking, "Do you have proof?"

Ignore, the fake news. My position has not changed. I oppose CAB3 as a citizen, as a lawyer and as a Member of Parliament. We are escalating our efforts to build a force of MPs that will radically resist CAB3 as it makes its way to Parliament. If I am chairing anything, it is the RESISTANCE!
Zimbabwe is in a revolution! The Gun is subdued…and the young man is on Facebook and not on the streets! 😓. I feel pain…but we must fight and lead to the best we can…
