Meet the first SheBuilds AI Fellows.

473 people applied. After interviews and a hard, merit-based selection, these 20 women came through as our pioneer cohort, the first of 40 we'll train in Kaduna.

Over the next six months, they'll learn to build AI tools for real problems in Nigeria, and we can't wait to show you what they make.

brainbuilders01 Nigeria’s AI economy could add more than 15 billion dollars to the country by 2030. But in parts of the north, 49 in every 50 women have never used a computer. Left alone, a boom like that gets built by half the country and leaves the other half further behind.

Over the next six months, these women will go from their first lines of Python to building AI tools that tackle problems in health, farming, education and more.
One of the fellows told us she was just glad something like this had come to Kaduna, and couldn’t wait to get started.
