Many people from my earlier post kept asking for images of the individual known as Kamaa, trading as Topsea Logistics, and the name appearing on his identification. I have seen the name Francis Mwangi, although I am not certain whether Kamau/Kamaa is a family name or simply the name he commonly uses.

I’m sharing this information so that anyone whose business depends on logistics agents, brokers or consolidators can do their own due diligence and make an informed decision before entrusting them with cargo or money.

Business stock is often acquired through loans, credit and other forms of borrowing. Once you purchase goods from the other side of the world, your entire business lifeline depends on logistics to ensure those goods actually reach you.

The moment you hand over your goods to someone, you have essentially placed a significant part of your business value in their hands. That means your shipping agent, broker or consolidator becomes part of your business lifeline. Nobody should gamble with that responsibility. A problem in logistics can tie up millions of shillings, disrupt cash flow and put an entire business under pressure.

From the number of messages that have reached my inbox, several people have raised complaints about their own dealings with him. Those are their individual experiences and should be verified independently.

When one of us speaks out and shares a documented experience, we create awareness for the wider business community.

For those operating logistics businesses in China, I also believe there needs to be stronger regulation and accountability over exactly who is allowed to receive, hold, consolidate or ship clients’ goods.

My current case is not even a consolidation case, but after 26 years in the import business, I have heard too many horror stories of business people losing their entire investment after entrusting goods to the wrong shipping or logistics agent.

For many importers, that cargo is not just merchandise — it is borrowed money, working capital, school fees, salaries and the future of the business.

@akibaru Awareness is very important to avoid such people also as a person who is in this logistics business, i always advocate that you use platforms like jctrans and proper agents who ensure that if such a mess happens, you are fully compensated.
