This response will unfortunately escalate this matter; something I was genuinely hoping to avoid. Your DM says I “alleged” the abuse I suffered, and this response now implies that what I went through is mere fiction or a made-up story. No problem.
Please check your DM for my contact details.
That said, and I say this with full understanding that your job is to protect your officers and I recognize that this response is written from that standpoint. But while you may not be a field officer and your exposure might be limited, I sincerely pray you never experience the nightmare that YOUR POLICE OFFICERS subject Nigerians to everyday, all in the name of “checkpoints.”
Nonetheless, allow me to enlighten you and point out a few things:
1. A simple scroll through your timeline shows numerous complaints from Nigerians who have suffered one injustice or another and have called on your unit for intervention.
2. YOUR UNIT WAS ESTABLISHED BECAUSE OF HOW THESE “TRAINED OFFICERS” YOU’VE QUICKLY DEFENDED HAVE TREATED NIGERIANS IN THE PAST.
3. The harassment I experienced is not peculiar to me. Others have shared similar ordeals (if you read through the comments on my post, you’ll see them). I will therefore make a separate post calling on Nigerians who have suffered similar abuse from the same officers to come forward and share their experiences, and I will tag you to it.
Perhaps after seeing multiple, corroborating reports, you will realize that your officers have deviated far from their supposed “training.” As it stands today, THE NIGERIAN POLICE IS NO LONGER OUR FRIEND.
Incase you missed it, here’s what ACTUALLY happened to me:
- My car was thoroughly searched- nothing was found.
- My driver’s license and car documents were seized on the claim that my vehicle was stolen.
- I was handcuffed, harassed, and driven to an unknown location in the dead of night.
- My phone was confiscated, and I was completely unreachable - no one knew my whereabouts until I was released.
- I had no idea where I was taken or what my supposed offense was until we arrived at the station.
- I was forced to write a statement under duress, without a surety or legal representative present.
- A gun was cocked at me simply because I refused to hand over my car keys (what if there was a misfire?)
- The officers were not in uniform, were not in a patrol vehicle, and the vehicle used to transport me had no number plates.
You think I merely “narrated a story” or “alleged” an ordeal? I can give a detailed description of the Elemero Police Station right now down to the smallest details. Ask about me, please.
I now look forward to you taking this up and continuing this investigation. I’ll be waiting in the DM (or here whichever you prefer)!

Hello all,
I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request. Our dear friend , @lavendermayyy has been bravely battling sickle cell disease, a condition that causes severe pain, frequent hospital visits, and serious complications. Right now, they are in urgent need of treatments and medications to help stabilize their health.
The cost of treatment and care is overwhelming, and the family cannot meet this burden alone. We are appealing to your kindness and generosity to help support @lavendermayyy through this difficult time💜
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a big difference.🙏🏾
Even if you are unable to give financially, please keep @lavendermayyy in your prayers and help by sharing this message with others.
