The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo has described the non-allocation of District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) resources to youth agencies as an unfortunate development. He said the decision will adversely affect the operations of key institutions such as the National Youth Authority and the Youth Employment Agency.

The Ghana Youth Federation is demanding the immediate restoration of DACF allocations to youth-focused agencies.
The federation says the 2026 DACF formula excluded funding for the National Youth Authority and Youth Employment Agency, threatening youth development and job creation.

Young people of Ghana deserve better.
When institutions created by law to support youth are denied funding, what message are we sending?
At a time when hundreds of thousands are chasing a few thousand jobs, we cannot afford to weaken the very agencies meant to support them.
This is not just about NYA or YEA.
This is about the future of Ghanaian youth.
We must speak.
We must act.
We must demand what is right.
@JDMahama This is the time to correct this is now.
#youthPower
Ghana cannot prioritise youth while excluding them from DACF. NYA & YEA are statutory. Not optional.
This is a policy failure.
Fix it now. @JDMahama , @shefghali
People say the Ghanaian youth are timid.
I say they are patient.
But the most dangerous moment in any society is when patient young people finally decide they have had enough.
The youth may be quiet.
But they are watching.
And when they act, the future changes. #YouthPower

@KPMG reports that 43% of Gen Z in Ghana have no investments.
Before we blame young people, let’s ask a harder question.
How do you invest what you do not earn?
Youth unemployment is high. Many incomes are irregular. Survival comes before any other thing.
This is not a discipline problem. It’s an income and system design problem.
Let’s Create productive jobs for the Gen Z’s. Ensure fair, predictable pay. Make investing automatic and simple.
With that, the youth will Earn, Auto-invest and Build assets.

We have normalised division for too long.
If someone supports one side, we reject everything they say.
If someone disagrees with us, we label them.
Meanwhile, the real issues remain.
Nations do not develop through permanent political warfare.
They develop when citizens think independently, engage constructively, and hold leadership accountable with intellect and integrity.
You can love your country without hating another party.
You can criticise government without becoming an enemy.
You can support good ideas regardless of where they come from.
Our generation must rise above colours and contribute value to national discourse.
The future will not be built by noise.
It will be built by thoughtful, united, competent young people.

President @JDMahama has made it official. Every Wednesday is now Fugu Day.
What began as mockery has become a national movement and now an economic opportunity. Demand for fugu is rising, creating real income opportunities for young entrepreneurs, designers, and traders across the value chain.
Youth across the country should seize this moment. Produce, trade, brand, export, and use the proceeds to build even bigger ventures.
With a Fugu trade fair coming up in Zambia, Ghana must position young businesses to access new markets.
From trend to national pride to economic gain. Let’s take advantage of it.
Kudus to the team @GhanaPresidency@felic@joyce_bawah@shamimamuslim and all.
I have written open letter to the President H.E @JDMahama to ensure youth empowerment must be treated as a national priority by its government.
Ghana has made progress, but those gains will only endure if young people are meaningfully engaged in the economy.
This is constructive engagement in the national interest.

After Fugu Friday, what next. Our culture should not be a trend. Let’s continue to wear and promote Ghanaian fabrics every day we represent our nation.
Thank you, @JDMahama for championing Made-in-Ghana. #FuguFriday
Honoured to be appointed to the Grant Management Committee of the Adwumawura Programme.
