"Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in their hearts and water them with wisdom and life's lessons. When they are grown, give them a chance to fly." - #WangariMaathai
We at MaMa Doing Good are deeply honoured to receive an Honoraria Award from the Universities and Colleges Student Peace Association of Kenya (UCSPAK). This award recognises our commitment to supporting UCSPAK's mission of fostering patriotism and empowering students to champion peace in Kenya. It was presented at the recent Charity Banquet organised by the UCSPAK Advisory Group of Eminent Persons (AGEP) and held at KICC in Nairobi.
MaMa Doing Good is collaborating with UCSPAK to establish Amani Gardens in educational institutions across the country. Each garden will contain 147 fruit trees, in memory of the 147 students who lost their lives in the tragic Garissa University terrorist attack in April 2015.
This initiative will raise awareness among students of their vital role in promoting environmental sustainability, peace and security. By involving students in the national 15 billion tree-growing campaign, we will inspire a generation dedicated to creating a greener, more peaceful future for our nation.
Every child you encounter is a divine appointment~Wess Stafford. This truth resonates deeply as I work with and shape the next generation, a privilege that inspires me daily and reinforces my commitment to empower young people for climate action. Thankyou Macleen for the reminder
This collective effort will create a space that inspires and empowers the next generation to be environmental cauntious and climate ready citizens and lead climate action
The First Lady's Mazingira Awards is a national annual program that provides a platform for young learners to creatively express themselves through art, essay, and spoken word.
Thank you for sharing Yvonne. Dr. Ndurumo has been my mentor, inspiring me and impacting my life in so many ways. As a person living with a hearing disability he showed me very early in my life that disability is not inability. I am truly grateful for his guidance and support.
Deeply humbled today @NairobiChapel as Dr. Michael Ndurumo, Kenya’s first deaf PhD, preached in sign. His journey is a powerful reminder of the barriers in education—and what’s possible when we break them to create truly inclusive systems. #InclusionMatters#barriersto belonging
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
If you want to create a lasting impact, walk together. Actual progress comes when we join hands, share a vision, and work towards common goals that uplift our communities. At the Mama Doing Good Partners’ Breakfast, we reflected on the power of collaboration through the various programmes we run.
So heartwarming to help this little girl plant her first tree!
Holding tightly to her Casuarina equisetifolia seedling, she was eager to learn how to plant it the right way. She planted her seedling and promised to make sure it grows into a tall, strong tree! Eco Champion! 💚
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:3
My prayer 🙏
An investment in foundational skills is an investment in climate action. Building climate specific knowledge and green skills requires solid mastery of the basics. https://t.co/ZaLunPQvLE via @worldbank
Today, we joined hands to plant 1000 tree seedlings in Kitieni Village, Machakos County! This transformative initiative was made possible through the generous support of KCB, and the efforts of the County Government of Machakos, which mobilized the local community to take action.
35 years ago in 1989, world leaders
made a promise to children:
We will keep you safe.
We will help you learn.
We will uphold your rights.
Today, we celebrate 35 years of
children's rights!

Today, Nairobi National Park hosted our 2024 FLAMA environmental champions for an unforgettable game drive, allowing them to witness the beauty of Kenya's wildlife up close.
It’s heartwarming to see the next generation fully embracing their role as environmental stewards. We are proud to support these young leaders as they continue to learn, grow, and advocate for a greener future.
