आज जब योग को अक्सर केवल आसन, फिटनेस और शरीर को लचीला बनाने के माध्यम के रूप में देखा जाता है, तब स्वामी देवमूर्ति जी की योग-दृष्टि हमें योग के उस गहरे आध्यात्मिक स्वरूप की याद दिलाती है जिसमें शरीर केवल साधन है और लक्ष्य है — प्राण, मन और चेतना की साधना।

स्वामी देवमूर्ति जी 20वीं शताब्दी के उन अग्रणी भारतीय योगाचार्यों में थे जिन्होंने यूरोप में भारतीय योग, ध्यान और प्राणायाम की परंपरा को पहुँचाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। वे उसी दौर के थे जिसमें B.K.S. Iyengar जैसे महान योगाचार्य भी पश्चिम में योग को स्थापित कर रहे थे; लेकिन देवमूर्ति जी की विशेषता यह थी कि उनका जोर केवल आसनों पर नहीं, बल्कि योग के आंतरिक और अनुभवात्मक पक्ष पर था।

उनकी साधना में प्राणायाम, ध्यान, श्वास की शक्ति और चेतना का विकास विशेष महत्व रखते थे। उनके द्वारा सिखाई गई परंपराओं का प्रभाव यूरोप के योग-जगत में आगे उनके शिष्यों के माध्यम से भी दिखाई देता है। उदाहरण के लिए, European Yoga Union के योग-इतिहास में J. Čumpelík को स्वामी देवमूर्ति जी का शिष्य बताया गया है।

यह जानना भी महत्वपूर्ण है कि देवमूर्ति जी की शिक्षाएँ केवल “योगासन” तक सीमित नहीं थीं। उनकी दृष्टि में योग एक जीवंत आध्यात्मिक अनुशासन था—श्वास से प्राण तक, प्राण से मन तक और मन से चेतना की गहराइयों तक जाने की यात्रा।

आज के समय में जब योग विश्वभर में लोकप्रिय है, ऐसे अग्रदूतों को याद करना इसलिए आवश्यक है क्योंकि उन्होंने उस समय भारतीय योग की गहराई को दुनिया तक पहुँचाया जब पश्चिम में योग अभी अपनी पहचान बना ही रहा था।

What Mill wrote about Hindus:

– No sense of history

An Indian institute of technology filmed a full course on how money actually moves through a banking system and released it for nothing.

The course is Economics of Banking and Finance Markets, produced at IIT Kanpur under NPTEL, India's national open courseware programme. It runs in sequence as one continuous argument rather than a set of clips.

He opens with the only question that matters at the start. Where does surplus money sit, who needs it, and what stands between them.

Then he splits the answer in 2. Direct finance, where the saver reaches the borrower through a market. Indirect finance, where a bank stands in the middle and absorbs the risk instead.

Everything after that hangs off the split. Time value of money, risk, information asymmetry, why institutions exist at all, and what regulators are actually regulating.

The turn is what he does with information. Banks are not warehouses for money. They exist because one side of every transaction knows things the other side does not, and the whole industry is built on charging for that gap.

It matters more now. Every fintech product claims to cut out the middleman, and almost none of them remove the information problem that put him there.
