So I opened my Bible this morning like I always do. No bookmark. No theme. No plan. Just opened it and started reading.

And I about fell out of my chair.

My eyes landed on a verse I have read before but clearly never felt.

Isaiah 45:3

“I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.”

Treasures.
Of darkness.

That stopped me.
There are things you learn in grief you will never learn in comfort. There is authority forged in suffering that cannot be manufactured on a stage. There is intimacy with God that only grows when everything else has been stripped away.

Hidden riches.

Not obvious blessings. Not flashy miracles.

Hidden.
There is depth being built in you that applause could not sustain.

The darkness is not your grave.

It is your treasury.

And when God brings you out, you will not just be relieved.

You will be refined. You will be stronger. You will know Him in a way you never could have if the lights had stayed on.

I thought I was randomly opening my Bible this morning.

But Heaven had an appointment.

And if you needed this today, maybe it was not random for you either💗

Thomas Massie is sounding the alarm.

Congress is on the brink of passing a liability shield for pesticide companies, like Bayer, who give Americans cancer.

Bayer is a foreign company, but Congress wants to give them total immunity to mass poison Americans with glyphosate.

“This is not to grant farmers’ immunity.”

“This is to grant the corporations immunity.”

“If farmers contract a form of cancer or non-Hodgson’s lymphoma from this chemical, if this makes it into the Farm Bill, you won’t be able to sue for that.”

This liability shield would be a complete betrayal of the MAHA movement.

But House Republicans are on the brink of passing it anyway, and President Trump is urging them to do it.

There is still time to fight back.

We need all hands on deck to stop this.

Do you know what’s fascinating about the life of Jesus as recorded in the Holy Bible? Even without the messianic title (assume that you can set aside his divinity for a moment I mean), the human, non-religious persona of Jesus Christ would still be one of greatest, most progressive humans to ever live. It’s 2026 and no one could point to any of his acts/teachings that would violate today’s most progressive codes. For a man who lived 2000 years ago, in the darkest ages, isn’t that incredible?

Read through his teachings, with his words, he simplified the complexity of human existence through the teachings of tolerance, love and kindness towards others. His teachings about the purity and honesty of Children as what makes them the best of humans, and how we should aspire to be like them. How we shouldn’t force our message on others, that once they say NO, just walk away. Thats consent. Never preached nor encouraged violence.

Gender equality, alms giving and respect for constituted authority. He taught it all… Two Thousand and Twenty Six years ago.

one reason why the wife and i spent so much time preparing a birth plan is that after she got pregnant, we wanted to avoid the first trimester nausea, so we started researching and reading the literature

turns out first trimester nausea is driven by hormones the placenta produces (mainly GDF15 and hCG), but what makes it worse for most women is blood sugar instability.
pregnancy lowers maternal fasting glucose, so if the stomach gets empty overnight or in the morning, nausea gets significantly worse

which means eating crackers or cookies in the morning doesn’t help, you’re spiking and crashing blood sugar when you need stability

what the research shows is that protein reduce nausea better than carbs.
what worked for us was a protein and fat rich meal before bed (to sustain blood sugar overnight), then good carbs and fats as soon as she wakes up before the crash hits

it may have been luck, but it helped a lot and the wife almost never suffered from first trimester nausea
when we went to the gynecologist and asked about nausea prevention, she said “it’s normal, you just have to deal with it”, and that’s how we realized we had to do most on our own
