TO HELL WITH KIU!!
I joined KIU because it was the leading private university. I wanted a good private university for my course. This has been the worst university you can ever go to. I'm so tired of begging for my results for months, actually a year now and their excuse is, I took a dead year. Meanwhile i went through the whole process of a dead year and after resuming, my results became a big problem. Always missing in the system, they toss you from one person to the other, when they're out of excuses, they start to dodge your calls. I diligently paid for my tuition always in time even the extra fees never came late, but this is their payment to me. Shame on all of you especially the CHSS, department of journalism and mass communication. @kiuvarsity I'm so frustrated. I don't see why it's the leading private University. Very incompetent
A letter from a Mother’s Heart 08th June 2026
Hope Is Not a Strategy
Dear High Achievers,
Many years ago, there lived a young girl named Mary. She was raised by her grandmother, a woman who loved her deeply. Every morning before Mary left for school, her grandmother would hold her hands, look into her eyes, and say, "My child, I pray and hope that one day you will become a highly successful woman."
Those words filled Mary's heart with confidence.
But there was another voice, her grandfather.
Whenever he heard his wife making those declarations, he would smile and add, "My dear granddaughter, prayer is important, but prayer without hard work is like a seed that is never planted. Hope alone will not make you successful."
As a child, Mary did not understand him. In fact, she sometimes wondered whether her grandfather loved her as much as her grandmother did. Why was he always talking about effort, discipline, and hard work?
Years later, as an adult, Mary finally understood.
Her grandfather was not discouraging hope; he was teaching her that hope must be accompanied by action.
I was reminded of this lesson when I overheard a student speaking to his mother on the phone. The student pleaded, "Mum, please pray for me so that I pass my examinations."
One teacher standing nearby smiled and said, "Your mother's prayers will certainly help, but only if they find you already working hard. Prayer compounds preparation; it does not replace it."
Those words carry a powerful truth.
Many of us love the idea of success. We dream about standing on a podium receiving an award. We imagine ourselves giving inspiring testimonies before large crowds. We visualize our names appearing among the best performers.
But there is something hidden inside the word testimony.
Before there is a testimony, there must first be a test.
The test is the season of sacrifice.
The test is waking up early to revise when others are sleeping.
The test is remaining, focused when others are distracted.
The test is choosing discipline over comfort.
Without the test, there can be no testimony.
A farmer may spend every day praying for a bumper harvest, but if he never plants, weeds, or tills the soil, his prayers cannot produce crops. An athlete may possess extraordinary talent, but if he never trains, talent alone will never win a gold medal.
Excellence has never been accidental.
It is the reward of diligence, perseverance, commitment, and consistent effort.
Some people call successful individuals "lucky." Yet I have learned that luck can be understood as Labouring Under Correct Knowledge. Success often comes to those who prepare thoroughly, work faithfully, and seize opportunities when they appear.
Dear High Achievers, do not merely dream about success, work for it.
Do not simply wish for excellence, prepare for it.
Do not wait for opportunities, equip yourself for them.
God blesses the work of our hands, but first we must put our hands to work.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 14:23:
"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."
As we begin this week, let hard work be the fuel that drives your journey toward academic excellence. Let discipline become your daily companion. Let commitment become your habit. Let perseverance become your strength.
Hope is important. Prayers are powerful. But hope and prayer achieve their greatest impact when they are joined with diligent effort.
I believe in you.
I value you.
I am confident that each one of you has the potential to achieve greatness.
May God bless the work of your hands and grant you a fruitful and productive week.
