Happy to announce- first enrollment is complete in 2GUIDE trial: balloon guides vs modern long sheath/superbore guides for stroke thrombectomy. 🧠

DM if your center would like to participate.
Visualize and understand what goes on during an aspiration thrombectomy pass and what techniques can improve first pass effect rates.

What is your aspiration thrombectomy technique? Carefully relaxing aspiration catheter under fluoroscopy may further improve clot ingestion, as shown in this latest @JNIS_BMJ technical video🛠️📽️

After completing 4 years of residency and 3 years of fellowship, I am happy to share that I have completed my training in Endovascular Neurosurgery. This was only possible with the unwavering love and support of my amazing wife, kids and parents, and the guidance
of my incredible mentors.
I am very excited to also share that I have accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Endovascular Neurosurgery at the USF Department of Neurosurgery, Brain & Spine - Lakeland division. Looking forward to joining the team at Lakeland.
To clip or to embolize? All ruptured aneurysms treated in Germany from 2013-2022 show the following:
🔹 Higher annual volume centers provide lower mortality and better outcomes
🔹 Endovascular treatment showed better functional outcomes, shorter hospital stays,
less intensive care, and lower costs compared to clipping
🔹 Mortality rates for EVT have remained stable over time, but have increased for clipping

Our Endovascular team, (missing Dr. Guerrero) recently welcomed Professor Said AIT BENALI, MD, Chair in Morocco. We’re honored to host global colleagues at USF and TGH to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and strengthen international collaboration in advancing neurosurgical care.
#SVIN24 was a week ago, but the discussions regarding the latest in clinical trial updates are ongoing!
Check out these tables that @neurona_critica & I put together to summarize the exciting new studies currently in the works to move us #ForwardTogether ⏩🧠💉🩸

Thanks to my mentors and co-authors: Our 8-center analysis on the lack of benefit of decompressive craniectomy after large hemorrhagic transformations. Interesting result compared to recent SWITCH trial

3 randomized trials. 3 positive results. Paradigm shift in the treatment of subdurals. More data coming and much science to learn but this is an encouraging start.
1/Ready for a throw down?!
Everyone knows about MMA fights...
But do you know about the **ORIGINAL** MMA (middle meningeal artery)?
Blood supply to the dura doesn’t get the attention it deserves!
