Discord is Threatening to Shutdown BotGhost: The Enshittification of Discord.

Discord has given us a sudden ultimatum: change how our platform works by July 14 or face total shutdown.

They claim our use of bot tokens violates their policy, even though this is standard practice across platforms like MEE6, Replit, Dyno, Glitch, and more.

No alternative method exists. No roadmap. No real opportunity to comply.

This decision threatens:

- Millions of hours of work from our team and community
- Over 3 million bots created
- 100M+ commands run
- Countless classrooms, servers, and communities

All of it is at risk due to vague rules and zero communication.

Discord is expanding its age verification testing beyond the UK and Australia.

Small groups of users are now seeing age assurance prompts (such as selfie or ID scan for 18+ access) in Ukraine, Austria, and Canada.

Discord's support pages note that some users outside those countries may see these prompts as part of ongoing experiments.

This indicates likely broader worldwide A/B testing, though no full global rollout has been announced yet.

Data is processed one-time (facial estimation on-device, IDs not stored) and deleted afterward. Check your account if you're in affected regions.
