It’s day 583:

We’re hemorrhaging billions in an ego-driven war with Iran.
We’re losing our allies. Even Canada despises us.
Inflation is higher.
Gas & food costs are higher.
The national debt exceeds $40 trillion. We can’t even cover the interest payments without borrowing more money.
Corporations are gobbling up the housing inventory, unchecked by a corrupt administration.
Tariffs have decimated farmers and small businesses across the country.
Towns are struggling to ward off the resource drain posed by invasive data centers.
Diseases eradicated decades ago are back on the rise.
Our food supply is more contaminated than ever.
Zero Epstein pedophiles face accountability, protected by Trump and his crooked DOJ.
Pro-Trump oligarchs are exponentially growing their wealth through illegal market manipulations and crypto scams, while the working class struggle to make ends meet.
A record number of drug traffickers and crypto cons have been pardoned…after they bribed the Con in Chief.

So, unless you’re part of the Epstein class or the robber barons currently looting the nation, what possible reason could you have for supporting Trump and this GOP’s dystopian nightmare?

Here is what I believe.

We have been separated by people who profit from our separation.

That is the business model. Keep us apart and sell us the fight.

Here is what that separation does.
People stop talking. They stop talking, so they stop knowing each other. They stop knowing each other, so they fear each other. They fear each other, so they hate each other. You break that chain at the first link, not the last.

I also believe there is one true existential threat to this democracy and his name is Donald Trump.

So I will sit down with anyone who has a platform and sees in Trump what I see.

That is why I sat down with Nick Fuentes. His views on race and women are antithetical to mine. What he has said about the Holocaust and Nazism is indefensible. He is also demonstrably persuasive and he has a bullhorn that no amount of cancellation has taken from him. A million-plus people listen to him. I wanted to hear it myself instead of reading what I am supposed to think about it.

Nick and I agree on almost nothing. We agree on Trump.

Nothing else we argue about matters if Trump is not stopped. And the people who see what he is do not all think like me. If your standard is that everyone who opposes him has to agree with you first, you have already handed him the country.

I will take one piece of common ground over ten more years of shouting across the same street.

Things most Americans agree on:

Groceries cost too much.

Tariffs suck and make no sense.

Congress and Presidents shouldn’t trade stocks.

The debt is a mess.

The border should be secure, but legal immigration is good.

Endless wars are stupid, especially ones that nobody wants and have never been explained.

Americans are exhausted.

AI is like my new best friend that also might be trying to take my job, my ability to think for myself, and my humanity in the process. Yo like I love you, but WTF, but I still love you.

Diversity is actually awesome! The opposite is boring AF.

Canadians are super fucking cool.

Mexicans are chill.

Putin isn’t a good guy looking out for America’s best interest. Rocky IV and Miracle are great movies.

Good neighbors are a blessing.

Freedom of religion and coexistence without having to blow each other up is probably a good idea.

We all question, are we alone in the universe?

We all fuck up along the way.

Epstein didn’t hang himself.

The Trumps and Epstein were best friends for decades. It’s like Bert trying to tell us Ernie was just an acquaintance in the same social scene on Sesame Street back in the day.

The Cowboys suck. Go Birds!

Things we’re told to fight about:

Me.
Laptop.
Vaccines.
Transgenders in sports.
Pronouns.

When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents.

In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much.

Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death.

If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.
