Mom to 12 year old feminist, wannabe 🚴♀️, sea dipper, nature lover with environmental background. Dreams of a Mayo win (said no Mayo person EVER). 💚❤️
@philipnolan1 Thanks for posting this. Not really a big ask from men… and would make a huge difference to women walking alone especially as the evenings get shorter.
@FHmediastuff It’s gone beyond a joke at the Coco corner. Horrified to see one of the owners parking outside on double yellow lines. Seriously, what message is that giving! I’ve lost count how many times I’ve nearly been mowed down. No longer a customer!
@PeterKeaneGAL So what ‘active travel’ elements remain??? Surely the slip road is a huge hindrance to anyone trying to get to school safely, ensuring kids are chauffeured to school, causing the gridlock.
In both of these photos, I was suicidal. Yet, looking at the second pic, you wouldn’t have known it.
That’s why it’s so important to check in with your friends & family. You never know what someone is going through 💚 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
Shout out to the taxi driver who nearly mowed me down on a green man pedestrian crossing at Millars Lane, Galway having walked my son to first day of school. Maybe a 10 year old wouldn’t have reacted as quickly as me!
Of the 30 hottest days ever recorded, no fewer than 21 have occurred THIS MONTH. Temperatures in July 2023 could well be the highest for 120,000 years. This story is the lead on the BBC website, 7th on The Times, 69th on The Daily Mail, & hasn’t yet been mentioned by The Sun.
Rivers of ice are cascading through Italian towns in an unimaginable climate disaster. And Italy had its hottest day ever last week. Our climate system is collapsing in catastrophic fashion.
@GalwayCityCo €6 parking charge to bring 5 kids swimming??? Glad to see charges but maybe introduce elsewhere in Salthill and offer a cheaper rate if using leisureland facilities…I thought it was free if using facilities…not so…
“impacts on ecosystems on land.. it’s easy to see – the plants wilt and animals get too hot. But people generally don’t think about marine heatwaves. That’s what really worries me – that unseen, silent dying.”
