USPS rate and classification changes take effect July 12.
Here's what's changing:
- Ground Advantage ounce-based pricing out, avg. 11.8% increase for lighter commercial parcels.
- Dim weight divisor dropping from 166 to 139, large lightweight packages will cost more.
- New $7.50 HazMat handling fee for Priority Mail, plus $50 noncompliance fee for improperly declared packages.
- Free Addresses API discontinued, migration to fee-based version required by July 12.

FedEx Freight is now its own company. As of June 1, it trades on NYSE under FDXF, completely separate from FedEx parcel.
Two big changes for eCommerce shippers:
Bundled parcel and LTL pricing has been separated. Your LTL volume no longer influences your parcel rates.
Dimensional pricing is now enforced. Accurate box dimensions need to be in your system before a shipment is placed, getting that data right before checkout is what keeps your shipping costs predictable.
