The Shockers have begun their 2nd tournament of the season. Both Lett/Phillips and Benson/Mitchell are 2-2 after day one of Kentucky. Go Shockers!

D3 update:
After forfeiting 2 debates b/c illness, LP was able to debate this morning and finished as the #9 seed, qualifying to the NDT.

And BH won the run-off debate on a 2-1 to earn the #12 spot.

Not bad for 4 sophomores. See you at JMU! #GoShockers!

The Shockers are competing at the District 3 tournament this weekend. The teams of Kayla Benson and Alec Hinecker (BH) and Dom Lett and Bobby Phillips (LP) will be competing for bids to the NDT. Go Shockers!

Wichita LP loses to Wake BC in the doubles. A great tournament for Bobby and Dom and a wonderful way for Shocker debate to end the semester. Been many years since we've cleared a team at Wake. Proud of our debaters and coaches on a terrific semester! Go Shockers!

BH finishes 3-5. Still a good tournament with some quality wins.

LP clears with 5-3 record and will debate Wake BC in the doubles in the morning. Its been years since Wichita cleared a team here, and its a testament to the whole squad's hard work. Go Shocks!

Shockers are competing at the Shirley at Wake Forest University this weekend. Dom Lett and Bobby Phillips (LP) are 1-1 after two rounds and Kayla Benson and Alec Hinecker (BH) are 2-0. Go Shockers!

Finally, our JV team of Jaden Brown and Eli Flores debuted their season with a 4-2 record in prelims before losing in the semi-finals. Jaden as the 6th speaker and Eli was the 9th. Great showing!

Last weekend, WSU competed at UK. LP was 5-3 and missed on points. Still, an improvement from last tournament and a good sign for things to come for this pair of sophomores. BH unfortunately was struggling with illness at the tournament but managed a 3-5 record, not easy at UK!..

Wichita State Kayla Benson and Alec Hinecker are competing at the Baby Jo hosted by UMKC this weekend. So far, they are 3-1, debating Missouri State in round 5. Go Shocks!
