The Alaska State Troopers are asking for the public's help locating 34-year-old Sterling resident Joseph Mesa. Mesa has an active arrest warrant and is believed to be in the Kenai Peninsula area. If you see Mesa, do not approach him and call 911 immediately. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. Alaska State Troopers are seeking the public’s assistance in helping locate Benjamin Cross and Gene Utley both of North Pole. They are wanted in connection with a burglary of over $500,000 in property, including gold, jewelry and guns, from a location in Ester.
Cross is wanted on a $500,000 arrest warrant for burglary, theft, and misconduct involving a weapon. He may also be in the Anchorage area. Cross is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should not approach and should call 911.

Alaska State Troopers are asking for assistance locating 78-year-old Effie Kemp. Troopers received a report on Nov. 24, 2025 at 10:50 a.m. that she walked away from an assisted living home on Palo Verde Road in Fairbanks around 9 a.m. Kemp walks with a cane. She is Alaska Native, weighs roughly 125 lbs., is 5’6” tall, and has gray hair and no teeth. Kemp was last seen wearing a long black coat, black mittens and tennis shoes. Anyone with information about Kemp's whereabouts is asked to contact troopers at 907-451-5100.
