@ADonutHolesHole The man is 94. He was 83 in 2015. The reason he didn't score Bridge of Spies was because of health issues. There's an alternate reality where we don't get *any* of these scores. How lucky we all are that he is still here to share his talents.
@jonathanmb32 1993 is higher quality, but 2002 is the pair of movies I'd be more likely to rewatch. 2005 not far behind, but a little more of a discrepancy between the two.
@yui_antinomy A lot of her early supporting roles are frustrating cause she clearly has more star wattage than the leads. But anything with her and Cagney is a safe bet and I am a big fan of some of her movies with Glenda Farrell.
@yui_antinomy Am watching a lot of Joan Blondell this year and I wish he worked with her more! (Though if memory serves me right she is pretty straight-laced in Goodbye Again).
@yui_antinomy My big take on Curtiz is that he would be considered one of the great directors of horror and noir if he wasn't so versatile. The Unsuspected is probably the best use of those talents. And yet he probably saw it as just another picture, with no illusions about chasing Hitchcock.
@yui_antinomy Hard not to go with some of the classics like Casablanca and Robin Hood. But I think Wax Museum has really improved upon rewatch. Jimmy the Gent, Kennel Murder Case, Unsuspected, The Walking Dead, The Curious Bride and The Keyhole all deserve more attention. Janie surprised me!
@LexG_III One of those actors who feels permanently tethered to the 2010s. TV guy who occasionally does movies. But pretty good in Spielberg's West Side Story!
@TransmissionsSW I love how fans are obsessed with longer runtimes and yet most of the consensus favorites are the shortest films in the franchise and the longest ones are generally the most divisive.
Can anyone who has seen DISCLOSURE DAY confirm if Michael Kahn is one of the credited editors or just Sarah Broshar? Saw an interview w/ Spielberg where he seemed to suggest it was just Broshar.
