Supportive Housing of Waterloo (SHOW) is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to design, build and operate permanent, affordable, supportive housing.
This month we celebrate the resilience, wisdom, and contributions of older adults in our community.
Stories like Robert's highlight the importance of ensuring seniors have access to safe, stable housing and the supports they need to thrive.🏡

We extend our sincere congratulations to this year’s City of Waterloo Senior of the Year Award recipient, Colleen Cooper, and to all 15 nominees who were recognized for their dedication and service in the community - including our very own resident, Robert S! 👏

💙 Today, on the #InternationalDayofFamilies, we recognize that family is not only defined by blood — it is also built through compassion, support, belonging, and community. 🏡

On #RedDressDay, we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
The red dress stands as a powerful symbol of remembrance. Today, we come together to raise awareness, show our support & renew our commitment to justice, healing & change.
Justice begins when someone understands what to do next.
In #WaterlooRegion, many face legal challenges without a clear starting point. CLIP changes that by meeting people where they are & turning complex legal info into accessible guidance.

Momentum is building for our innovative, supportive housing project at 362 Erb Street West! We recently shared progress on our 10-unit supportive housing development with Mayor Dorothy McCabe & MPP Graydon Smith in Toronto and are grateful for their support. 🏡🤝
Our Power, Our Planet reminds us that collective action is the key to lasting change. Let’s celebrate Earth Day 2026 by planting trees, cleaning up communities, and uplifting one another with kindness and integrity.

🚊The upcoming free transit pilot for older adults aims to reduce isolation and improve access, but relying solely on a mobile app to verify eligibility risks excluding many seniors who are less comfortable with technology. 👉https://t.co/BTbwCcH988
Shawn has called 362 Erb St. W. his home for the past 10 years, after living on the street for two decades.
🏠Stories like Shawn's reminds us of the impact supportive housing, 24/7 care & hope can transform lives in tremendous ways. Besides safe home, he gained peace of mind.
By 2026, 11% of those waiting will be 60 or older, and nearly one in three (31%) will be over 50. This shift reflects changing housing needs as seniors face health, mobility & isolation challenges.
Supportive housing is vital & stories like Cora-Lee’s illustrate this impact.
Every moment of learning and healing at SHOW is a sign of new beginnings. 🏠🌱
