Detailed account of JPC report on the VBSA bill, which proposes a single higher education commission.
1. Largely backs govt on keeping funding out of its ambit.
2.Keeping IITs & IoE within it. Exempting them is “neither desirable nor necessary”.

Tagore in the morning, Shakespeare at noon: My Bengali-medium schooling doesn’t hamper my English-medium job
It’s common to think that a vernacular-medium education must make fluency in English difficult but that's not true | ✍️ Rajyashree Dutta

Students from North East in a nursing college in Andhra attacked by local students in same college.
North east students have complained of racially motivated attack
What does deemed university tag bring to a medical college?
Money, lots of it.
Two colleges in TN hiked their MBBS fees by 360% after getting deemed status.
Almost 75% deemed medical colleges now cost > Rs 1 Cr.

“Reckless use of AI” in setting and translating examination papers, followed by an unexplained six-week delay in cancelling three flawed tests, is at the heart of the UGC-NET controversy that has forced the National Testing Agency to order fresh examinations in English, Commerce and Sociology. NTA however denied that generative AI was used to author the disputed papers.
A second disclosure concerns NTA’s response after the discrepancies surfaced. Education ministry officials and NTA sources said the ministry favoured cancelling the papers and retesting by July-end or the first week of August. NTA, however, did not act on that advice, waiting nearly six weeks and announcing the cancellations only when it released provisional answer keys for 84 of 87 subjects.

If you think you have had enough @NTA_Exams , you are mistaken. An exam conducted in June will have 3 of its papers re-conducted. There were complaints and it took them 7 weeks to conclude that students were right. Students will travel again, take the test again. Of course, don’t blame NTA!!
Everyone concerned with education should be REALLY grateful to CJP @Cockroachisback for this inspired and hugely necessary movement, giving voice to schoolchildren. The Right to Education Act has been dishonoured for too long; it's great to see the demands to realise it!
The most satisfying things of the last few weeks has been the young students of government schools raising voices and protesting for something which is their fundamental right -- The Right To Education.
Sadly after #80yearsofindependence young children had to take matters in their own hand. Yet we want to say #HappyIndependenceDay!
Best of luck if anyone is able to enter schools. Now going to schools is quite difficult. Government has built fortress around it...personal experience unlike the older times
SCHOOL THIK KARO!
Naya Parliament ban gaya. Naya PM Office ban gaya. Gaon ka school waise ka waisa hai.
80 years of Independence, and a child is still asking for drinking water and a functional toilet.
This Independence Day, we stop waiting. We audit it ourselves.
1. Download the checklist.

2. Go to the school. In person.
Photograph every gap. Check for electricity, drinking water, functional toilets, mid-day meals.
3. Share with local authorities. Then tag us.
Share your audit report with the sarpanch, BDO, headmaster. Then tag us on our social media.
We amplify what you find. Every school counts.
