WhatsApp is finally fixing one of its biggest privacy problems.
For years, the only way to chat with someone on WhatsApp was to share your phone number.
That meant exposing a personal detail just to:
โข Buy or sell something
โข Join a community
โข Talk to a client
โข Network with someone new
Once your number is shared, it's easy for it to be saved, forwarded, or used to contact you later.
Now, WhatsApp is introducing Usernames.
Instead of sharing your phone number, you'll be able to share a username while keeping your number private.
Why this matters:
โข More privacy when talking to new people.
โข Safer interactions in groups and communities.
โข Better for freelancers, businesses, and creators.
โข Fewer situations where you have to reveal your personal number.
A small feature on the surface.
A major privacy upgrade underneath.
While watching The Rookie series, I had a random thought...
Why aren't body cameras mandatory for government officials who interact with the public in India?
"RBI Repo Rate ni penchindi."
Financial news lo ee line chala sarlu vintam.
Kani Repo Rate ante enti?
Adi mana loans ni ela affect chestundi?
