It was a fun day accompanying @SHCougarLibrary and students to hear Killers of the Flower Moon author, David Grann, speak as part of Hutchison Community College's Dillon Lecture Series.
Students experimentally determined how many rubber bands were needed for a successful egg “bungee jump”. Their task was to get the egg as close to the ground as possible without breaking the egg!

@SalinaSouthMS students competed in Bristlebot Battles after finishing their experiments to determine how leg placement on the bot impacted its movement. Thank you to @305EdFoundation for funding this fun and engaging project!
Students were challenged to make the longest chain out of 1 sheet of paper with only tape and a pair of scissors to complete the task. Their creativity and problem solving was impressive and there were spirited debates about what constitutes a chain. ⛓️ ✂️ 📄
@SalinaSouthMS students started a circuitry unit today. We explored electricity, the components of a circuit, and then students built paper circuits. Next week we’ll apply our skills to make a light up greeting card. Thanks to @305EdFoundation for funding this project!

Last week students had the chance to explore how the height a blood droplet falls impacts its spatter shape and size. Today they experimentally determined how the angle of impact affects blood spatter patterns. 🔍 👀
