Once upon a time, there was a very very very fraught presidential election.
An election where each side thought that the other would likely destroy the United States.
Another week of #advent and I share this rich red silk German 1828 court dress with gold embroidery around the hem, bodice and puffed gigot sleeves. Imagine how the embroidery would have reflected and looked in candlelight. 🕯 @metmuseum
