The headquarters/main house at the JA Ranch near Palo Duro, Texas. Its oldest portion is a log cabin which predates the American Civil War. The main part of the house, built beginning in 1879, has rough stone walls on the ground floor and a wood-framed second story. Circa 1900.

Creed Taylor circa 1890. Creed moved to Texas in 1824. He fought in the Battle of Concepción, in October, 1835, the Grass Fight a month later, & the Battle of San Jacinto. Later a Texas Ranger. His sons were killed in the Taylor-Sutton feud, the bloodies feud in Texas history.
