Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Austria, like many other European countries, is seeking to modernize its army and increase its defense budget. In 2024, Austria awarded defense contracts to Israeli companies valued at several hundred million euros. 1/10

During the ban of Palestine Action, the UK met police spent £12 million arresting Pal action protesters holding placards saying “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action.” The total spent will be much higher as information from other UK police forces is not available.
“When I first heard about the ban going through, it’s just like a ton of bricks, and then when you see the amount of solidarity and support – it’s incredibly uplifting. I know this victory is in huge part thanks to them.”

UN expert welcomes United Kingdom court finding that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful
The Special Rapporteur invites the UK Home Secretary to… accept the Court’s conclusion… and also to apologise to those affected for unjustly stigmatising them as terrorists
BREAKING: WE WON.
The High Court ruled the Palestine Action ban is unlawful as it is disproportionate to free speech and the Home Secretary breached her own policy.
The court ordered the ban be quashed. Details of lifting the ban will be decided and completed at a later date.
Actionists took aim at Barclay's, HSBC, Chubb & Zurich for their complicity in genocide and climate collapse last night.
Well done @ShutElbitDown for the Austria action at Chubb!
Activists in Vienna, Austria, targeted the office of insurance company Chubb, protesting against their insuring of Israeli weapons maker Elbit Systems.
The UK cannot claim ignorance. British-made arms are being found in Sudan, where mass atrocities are unfolding.
I’ve written to the Foreign Secretary urging an immediate suspension of all arms exports to the UAE and urgent diplomatic action to stop the violence:

🚨BREAKING – Declassified has managed to speak with some of the Filton 24 activists, who are in prison accused of smashing into an Elbit Systems factory last year.
Heba Muraisi, held in HMP New Hall, explained why she’s gone on hunger strike. “Every time I spoke I felt like I wasn’t being heard. I was being silenced. They weren’t listening. I literally felt like this was the only option I had left”, she said.
One of the hunger strikers said they were being “gaslit” by guards who said “we’ve seen you eat”, while another had a four-page letter read to them about “all the horrible ways” they might die on hunger strike.
Kamran Ahmed, who is being held in HMP Pentonville, spoke about Sean Middlebrough, one of the Filton activists who was released on bail and then failed to return to prison.
“I hope he’s well. Hopefully his voice is amplified for the sake of the Filton 24 and everyone that’s involved in Palestinian activism. I can’t speak for everyone – I don’t dislike you for not returning. You have my full support – spiritually. Crack on and carry on and do what you’re doing”, Ahmed said.
Five people are facing 18 months on remand before trial, accused of the action at RAF Brize Norton.
They're imprisoned on the basis that the action cost £7million, yet the MOD still don't know the amount of damage caused.
The state lied to deprive people of their liberty.
