@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Yawn. Deny the reality of that abysmal final inning to your hearts content. All teams played hard. All teams played well. It’s a shame that junior varsity behavior ruined it at the last moment
Not all that Hot take: what happened at the end the of @NWLATournament finals was shameful and paints an embarrassing picture of the entire sport.
Really, really bad look and a putrid way to present the community to the folks who were watching it on ESPN+
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Why is it so difficult to grasp that the batters blocked the zone in an effort that prioritizes victory over the spirit and integrity of the game? Quite frankly it’s apples an oranges. Micro vs macro
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament He is in fact blocking the zone. He’s creating a scenario where the path of a ball that would normally hit the zone would instead hit him. That’s just such an obvious fact like it’s wild that anyone would defend it
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament So you’ve got an image of an elbow lined up perfectly with the inside pipe of the zone. And you’ve been playing wiffs for 10+ years competitively. And you’re gonna tell me with a straight face that this position won’t block a slider from hitting the zone? You kidding me?
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Sounds like you just have no counter argument to this clearly egregious act. If me accurately noting unacceptably bush behavior sounds like I’m taking something away from someone that should speak volumes
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Well I mean it’s not very simple this is a team that’s made the finals four times so it’s not like they’ve never been there.
Bottom line I think the question with asking is: would you do what they did to try and win a NCT? Given that you’ve won two imma say no you wouldn’t lol
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Yeah I mean I think it’s fair to say that this is a conversation about what folks prioritize as wifflers. Some prioritize winning and others prioritize the integrity of the game. It’s shockingly political if you ask me
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Start of game vs end of game. The elbow and upper body is clearly cutting off a portion of the zone. If you have actual images from a different angle showing that there’s no blockage going on there you can share it and I’ll eat crow
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Also I feel like there’s a mountain of evidence from that tournament indicating that SKBL has plenty of good pitchers. So no, I don’t think a good pitcher could counter that with ease because we saw a good pitcher fail to counter that with ease
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament Is there an image that you can show me indicating that they’re not blocking the zone? Because the images I sent you indicate that they are in fact blocking a portion of the zone.
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament I think that prioritizing winning over the integrity of the game is a problem. Others don’t and that’s totally fine.
Bottom line is the position of the batter created a scenario in which a portion of the zone was blocked off. That’s a problem
@Csarno13@KzooWiffleball@NWLATournament maybe it's just the angle? I also think it's really important to clarify that I'm not accusing anyone of cheating. It's just severely messed, IMO, and it's bad for the culture
