At 1 AM, I reached 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 with my Punjab Youth Congress colleagues to meet the students, listen to their concerns and stand with them during this difficult situation.

I have also appealed to the police administration to ensure that 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, while ensuring due process under the law.

🔴 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗯’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱❓

At 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, unverified claims about two female students being missing triggered a major student protest, clashes and damage on campus.

At 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, allegations of sexual assault triggered another massive student protest, campus vandalism and a blockade of the national highway. Police have registered an FIR based on a student’s statement and constituted an SIT to establish what actually happened.

Let’s be absolutely clear: 𝗥𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀. 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳.

But neither can genuine student concerns simply be brushed aside.

The answer is not silence. The answer is 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬, 𝗦𝗪𝗜𝗙𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬

Every parent sending a daughter or son to a university has one basic expectation: 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬

Every student has the right to: • a safe campus
• a responsive administration
• a police system that listens
• a fair and transparent investigation
• and answers when serious concerns are raised

On the sacred 𝗝𝗼𝘁𝗶 𝗝𝗼𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮𝘀 of 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘀 𝗝𝗶, let us remember a Guru whose life was a beautiful example of 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮, 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

His message reminds us that true spirituality is not only in prayer, but in 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, standing against discrimination, and treating every person with 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲.

May the teachings of 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘀 𝗝𝗶 continue to guide us towards 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 and a life dedicated to the welfare of all.

On his birth anniversary, we remember 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗝𝗶 — a 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿, 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 whose humility, intellect, and integrity shaped India’s journey and left an enduring imprint on the nation.

From guiding India through the historic 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟭 to serving as Prime Minister with quiet dignity, he devoted his life to strengthening the foundations of India’s progress.

A government’s job is not merely to make people dependent on monthly relief. It is to create an economy where young Punjabis can 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡, entrepreneurs can 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧, industries can 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪 and families can build a future with 𝗗𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬.
Punjab’s youth don’t want to spend their lives waiting for the next government scheme.
They want 𝗝𝗢𝗕𝗦. 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦. 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧.
Punjab needs 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗬, 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦 & 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 — not a political economy built around announcements and freebies.

Punjab deserves a government that thinks beyond the next headline and the next election cycle.

It is about building an economy where people can 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡, 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧, 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪 & 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬.
The Punjab Government must stop measuring progress by what it can distribute and start measuring it by what it can 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘.
𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗨𝗡𝗝𝗔𝗕 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦𝗡’𝗧 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗔 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗨𝗧.
