Hello Kombo

I know you are a Lionel Messi fan, and there is nothing wrong with hyping your goat, everyone does that

While doing so, we must be careful not to denigrate others and not mislead the audience we are trying to educate

Anytime you set up your ring light, sit down, open your phone camera and start recording, remember that people are listening to you for information

Your content should educate them, not create a misleading narrative

You said:

"Lionel Messi's farewell game against Benin Republic is a big win for African football"

STOP IT! 🛑

How exactly is Messi's farewell game a big win for African footbal?

Does African football look like a continent without a rich football history?

It sounds as if Argentina did African football a huge favour by inviting Benin Republic

No, they did no favors to Africa

For the players of Benin Republic, yes, it was a great opportunity to share the pitch with Lionel Messi

But, it does not add any historical significance to African football

African football already has its own history

We have produced legends. We have won major international trophies

African players have played at big clubs, command huge transfer fees and conquered European football

African nations have competed at the highest level of the World Cup

Our football history does not need Messi's farewell match to validate it

It's a DISRESPECT to African football to utter such a statement

On the other hand, the reports coming out of the farewell game are not good enough

Benin Republic players couldn't get pictures with some of the Argentine players or swap jerseys with them

For those players, this could have been a once in a lifetime experience

Imagine playing against Lionel Messi and Argentina, then leaving without even having the opportunity to take a picture or exchange shirts with the players

That could have made the occasion even more memorable for them

So, congratulations to Lionel Messi on his farewell

Messi's farewell game against Benin Republic was a big moment for Messi and a memorable opportunity for the Benin Republic players

It was NEVER any milestone for African football

African football has a rich history of its own, and we should learn to respect and tell that history properly
