Prétendre ne pas cautionner la justice privée tout en qualifiant d’« inique » une condamnation pour des violences gravissimes relève de la pure démagogie. Dans ce dossier, M. Lenoci ne s'est pas contenté de signaler un problème : il a massacré un individu jusqu'à lui infliger des lésions cérébrales irréversibles. Une tentative de meurtre reste un crime, quel que soit le passif de la victime. Si chaque citoyen appliquait votre logique de justification de la loi du talion, les hôpitaux et les pompes funèbres seraient débordés.

En insinuant que les magistrats sont complaisants ou incompétents, vous discréditez l'État de droit à des fins électoralistes et de visibilité médiatique. Votre posture est d'autant plus hypocrite que lorsque vous avez vous-même été victime d'un simple entartage, vous n'hésitiez pas à invoquer des qualifications terroristes et à réclamer une sévérité exemplaire.

Les dysfonctionnements du système se règlent par le travail parlementaire et le renforcement des moyens policiers et judiciaires, pas par des tweets sensationnalistes qui encouragent l'ensauvagement de la société. Laissez les juges juger.

Gisteren beweerde minister @BenWeyts @de_NVA op @VTMNIEUWS dat moderne diesels qua CO2-uitstoot vaak beter scoren dan vergelijkbare benzinewagens. Dit argument dient als fundering en verantwoording voor het nieuwe wegenvignet en de hervormde verkeersbelasting.

Maar klopt die claim wel? De officiële cijfers en de Europese regelgeving vertellen een heel ander verhaal. Een noodzakelijke factcheck.

1. De harde CO2-cijfers: Géén diesel-voordeel
Kijken we naar de data van de meest verkochte modellen op de markt, dan is er van een 'diesel-voordeel' simpelweg geen sprake. Neem de officiële CO2-poster van Volkswagen België (editie 06/2026) voor de populaire VW Golf met een identiek vermogen van 150 pk:

Golf Benzine (1.5 eTSI, 150pk): 118 – 128 g CO2/km
Golf Diesel (2.0 TDI, 150pk): 119 – 131 g CO2/km
De cijfers liggen op een paar gram na exact naast elkaar, waarbij de diesel op papier zelfs licht hoger scoort. Het argument dat diesel fiscaal gunstiger moet worden omdat het de CO2-uitstoot van ons wagenpark helpt te drukken, wankelt dus al bij de basis.

2. Wat het beleid negeert: Luchtkwaliteit en NOx
Een verkeersbelasting die "propere diesel" als voorbeeld neemt op basis van een foutieve CO2-aanname, gaat bovendien volledig voorbij aan de werkelijke impact op onze luchtkwaliteit en volksgezondheid. Als we kijken naar de wettelijke uitstootnormen, zien we zwart-op-wit een gigantisch verschil:

Binnen de actuele Euro 6e-bis norm mag een dieselwagen wettelijk 80 mg NOx/km uitstoten.
Voor een benzinewagen ligt die limiet op slechts 60 mg NOx/km.

Dat betekent dat diesel in de Europese wetgeving al 33% méér stikstofoxiden wordt toegestaan. Cijfers van de Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij (VMM) bevestigen dat deze theoretische marge zich ook in de praktijk doorvertaalt: ook de allernieuwste generatie diesels stoot op de weg nog altijd significant meer NOx uit dan benzinewagens.

De fiscale paradox: Een platte belasting weeral
Jarenlang was diesel de grote fiscale zondebok vanwege de nefaste impact op de luchtkwaliteit (fijnstof en NOx). Vandaag lijkt CO2 te worden aangegrepen om exact hetzelfde motortype plots fiscaal vriendelijker voor te stellen — met argumenten die bij de dealer in de showroom al niet overeind blijven.

In plaats van een rechtvaardig, doordacht en sturend milieubeleid gebaseerd op objectieve data, voelt dit voor de burger als de zoveelste platte belasting weeral. Een platte belasting vermomd als ecologische maatregel, terwijl het fundament eronder simpelweg geen steek houdt.

Tom, thanks for the fair comment—hard to find those these days. Most Belgian players play in top-tier competitions, so they know exactly how to handle the pressure. It has only happened once before in history: back in 1962 with Brazil’s Garrincha. The other graphic you shared was just about qualification rounds, making Balogun only the second player ever to receive this kind of corrupt privilege mid-tournament. Looking at the reactions, I guess Americans will always be Americans. We never intended to target the US team itself. It’s all the nonsense surrounding it: a president calling a buddy to bypass the rules. That is the fundamental problem. You can argue whether it was a red card or not, but a referee makes a decision, and that decision must be respected. I can believe the foul wasn't intentional, but he still bent a player's foot in half. That’s an automatic red, and you just have to accept it. No external pressure should ever be allowed. As an NHL fan, I see plenty of shouting and arguing, but when a penalty is called, you go sit out your 2, 4, or 5 minutes. Period! Sports are sports, and politics have no business in them. @realDonaldTrump was wrong, and the ultimate disgrace comes from @FIFAcom.
