The City is implementing the Intersection Safety Camera Program to reduce the number of traffic violations, crashes, and injuries caused by red-light runners. August 1-31, the program will start with a warning period. Beginning September 1, violators will receive a $158 fine.

Wednesday's multi-agency traffic enforcement operation focused on keeping our roads safe and promoting responsible driving. The effort resulted in 2 arrests, 314 citations, 72 warnings, 4 vehicles towed, and 41 educational contacts. Thank you to our law enforcement partners!
After a stolen e-bike was reported, officers issued a BOLO and our Drone Unit located the suspect fleeing southbound. He was apprehended near the 14500 block of Collins Ave, arrested on charges of Petit Theft and Possession of Burglary Tools, & the bike was returned to its owner.
Preparation is everything. Recently, our team completed a mock accreditation assessment with certified Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation assessors as we prepare for our official re-accreditation in August.

Seat belts save lives! The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department will be joining law enforcement agencies nationwide for the annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign. From May 18 - May 31, officers will conduct heightened seat belt enforcement throughout the city.
