Tengen is clearly written to be accepted while ignoring the issues(extremely creepy start and continued view on authority but genuine love later, most people will tell you that the girls loved him from the start or that he maried to save them), Rudeus is clearly written as a pos that try to get better but relapse.
For what matter I also think that the group of 'Rudeus did nothing wrong' is as stupid as the group that use extrem scrutony on him and not any on their media characters.

I read it while it was running and again after season 3 thank you. Killing his brother was to be clan leader, he did not have authority then. Then he did the 3 wedding to 3 girls he didn't knew (2 of his wifes and one was supposed to be the sister of the 3rd, but the 3rd took her place because she liked him and her sister didn't) he had the authority at that point and could have broke the rule, like he broke every rule afterward leading to him and his wife fleeing the clan.
If you want more proof when he kidnap Aoi he state to her that as his subbordinate she has no right to refuse his order, which is the exact position her wifes were in at the weddings.
