@ficcyworld450 You mean Gran Gran? She a healer, just not a bender. Yagoda recognized the necklace and told Katara about Kanna breaking off her engagement to Pakku. This Hints that they were friends and it's possible Kanna learned healing / medicine from Yagoda.
@ChibRisky@ApTora_ Amon's blood bending destroyed chi pathways physically through the light chakra in the forehead. It would take surgical precision by a bloodbender who already knew those pathways to restore (impossible). Energy bending "re-writes" / creates new pathways.
@michaelkhaycee Bending is spiritual/chi energy through physical pathways. Amon destroys already connected pathways with bloodbending through the light chakra in the forehead. I don't think it alters a person genetically the way Energybending does.
@xavierblaze189@heartofkorra Amons bloodbending destroys the chi pathways that a bender already has to physically connect to an element. If her connection wasn’t developed there was nothing to destroy. She physically connected to air in that moment.
@ani_meme25 No doubt. But she swore off bloodbending while Amon was taking the skill to another level. At this point in the story I don't think anyone thought this was possible with bloodbending. It might not of even crossed Katara's mind.
@RealKorraSato@ani_meme25 exactly. Amon has had physic bloodbending from a young age and has been developing it for a long time. She needs a full moon to use it. I'm sure she could sense the chi pathways destroyed, but the surgical level it would require to restore is not in her power.
@ani_meme25 Amon's bloodbending physically destroys the chi pathways that connect to the elements. I don't remember if they knew Amon is a bloodbender yet. Even if she did, Amon is a WAY more powerful / skilled bloodbender than Katara. She probably feared causing more harm to Korra.
@ChibRisky I think introducing the ability to block bending physically is important. It shows that the bending power system is physical, not magic. Also, she started Azula's "break", which was a huge turning point for Azula.
@ani_meme25 It was one at a time. When the spirits were fighting because of Vaatu, they joined together for a brief time and he was able to bend all 4. But she had to leave him. Aye-Aye told Wan that spirits can inhabit a human for a short time, but it can kill them if they stay too long.
@ani_meme25 At it's core, bending is something physical in the body. That's why blood bending & spirit bending are able to block or remove it. Raava isn't the source of the Avatar's bending ability. Wan + Raava + HC is the reason one person can physically bend all the elements.
@ani_meme25 Raava wasn't "inside" him because he would die. Elements were passed off when she passed through him. During HC they became one. The Reincarnated avatar would physically have the ability to bend all 4 elements at birth. The avatar state is channeling past lives through Raava.
@ani_meme25 spirits can cross in certain conditions. During a Solstice when the spirit world and physical world are very close. A spirit hotbed like the spirit Oasis the moon spirit inhabited. Or when there is a big imbalance (like the forest Hei Bai was protecting being destroyed)
@ChibRisky In ATLA, Iroh tells Zuko that lighting is a pure expression of firebending created by separating positive & negative energy. We should expect techniques to evolve. Amon said Mako was a talented bender. We should expect elevated understanding of a skill he uses everyday.
@ani_meme25 People keep forgetting Korra struggles with the spiritual side. She is at rock bottom and her pride is broken, opening her connection. "When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change". Also Aang is not physically in front of her. He's a manifestation.
@ani_meme25 the dark water spirit infected her avatar spirit & put her in a spirit world adjacent state. Wan showing up was to fill in the lost info on how the avatar exists (Raava, Vaatu, & HC). I don't think Aang knew about it. Roku didn't know about the spirit turtles in ATLA.
