Today, we honor Dr. Patricia Bath – a trailblazing ophthalmologist who was the first Black American to complete her ophthalmology residency, as well as the first Black woman to patent a medical invention.

She was also a champion for improving access to #eyecare, especially in the historically underserved Black community.

At @SightLife, we share her passion because we believe everyone, everywhere should have access to the eye care they need to thrive.
