Doctor Who ‘Cutting Copies’
Tim Burrows of the Doctor Who Missing Episodes Podcast spoke about the newly recovered ‘cutting copies’ of the Daleks’ Master Plan, during the recent event at HOME in Manchester.
FIFA to have 30 minute half time break in World Cup final, allowing viewers to watch all the first half action again, minus the hydration break, the Budweiser REhydration break, the Aramco DEhydration break and the RE-REhydration break sponsored by Pepsi
Terry Nation’s Master Plan
During the Doctor Who event at HOME in Manchester, Dalek expert Gavin Rymill outlined one of the key differences he’d noticed between the recovered episodes and Terry Nation’s scripts.
Here's the clean artwork for the spooktacular #DoctorWho "The Haunted Windmill", coming from Big Finish Productions next month. Plus an alternate, monochrome version, which I believe is going to be the reversible cover 👻👻
Here’s a new attempt to reconstitute that holy grail of missing #DoctorWho photos - the sole ‘narrative’ shot (that we know of) from The Edge of Destruction.
Jacqueline Hill, William Russell, Carole Ann Ford and William Hartnell cower from the melted Westminster Abbey Skeleton Clock on the TARDIS set in Lime Grove D on Friday 17th January 1964.
The picture was printed just once - in the Radio Times on the week of transmission. It’s basically just a load of halftone dots, but stacking multiple scans from different copies helps a bit. After that it’s just endless Photoshop toil.
I know it’s not perfect, but at least it looks a bit more like an actual photo now. The halftone wasn’t particularly flattering to the cast’s faces, but I’ve tried to stay as true to the original expressions as I could without making them all look like literal monsters!
Oh and I coloured it in as well, natch.

From Justin Richards' son Julian: "Thank you all for your kind words about Dad. If you would like to do something in his memory, please consider donating to Read for Good, a charity that works to get children reading, just as Justin always strived to do

One red card, two penalties, five goals, eleven minutes of extra time and a blood pressure too high to count. Probably beats the usual two weetabix and a shower before the working week starts
Life has a weird & rather sad sense of doing things… in the midst of writing an email to Justin Richards as I received word (via someone else) from Justin’s brother that he passed away early yesterday morning.
Wonderful man & superb writer. Condolences to family & friends. RIP
We might have left you mid-conversation a little longer than usual, but we think you'll agree it was worth the wait. We discuss our initial reactions to Devils' Planet and then we have a deep dive into how the episodes survived and the prospects for more:
