The sun dips below the horizon as the velvety night settles across the small town of Rivercross. There were the occasional specks of confetti here or there, littered across the cobblestone grounds of the town square. But the young lady at the town's general store assures you not to worry. She and her uncle will help clean up the rest.
So you waddle back to Maurice and Opal's cottage on the edge of town, belly full of cake and laughter. You sneak past the patches of strawberries and the trellises of grapes. You can take care of those tomorrow. You peek into the glass doors left slightly ajar, noting that she should really close that thing. Lest she someday gets kidnapped by that dragon prince she prattles on about. Do dragons even exist in Lumeria? Who knows.
You settle down beside the sleeping angel as she murmurs about something in her sleep. You think back to the past year of hijinks. From playing slots in her office at the SCC, to hiding every hamster from her sight. From rolling your eyes at her fantasies about Leon, to being thrown out of heaven together.
It's been a good year.
@dearNinette Yeah, I’ve played Fire Emblem since I was about 9, haha!! My favourite is Geneology of the Holy War, and every Nintendo direct has me begging on my hands and knees for a remake. But Awakening and 3H has a special place in my heart ❤️
