Avere dei figli ha spesso un impatto decisivo nella carriera di ricercatrici e ricercatori, che di frequente sono costretti a rinunciare a importanti opportunità di lavoro o al ‘’diritto’’ di congedo parentale. A questo si aggiungono i pregiudizi di genere, che portano spesso a discriminazioni nei confronti delle donne, per le presunte difficoltà a conciliare la carriera scientifica con la maternità.

🔬È proprio per fornire pari opportunità nel campo della ricerca scientifica, che anche quest’anno AIRC, @SiicaI e il Network Italiano per la Bioterapia
dei Tumori (NIBIT) bandiscono un premio dell'importo di 20.000 euro finalizzato a sostenere lo sviluppo della carriera in ambito oncologico di immunologhe e immunologi dopo la nascita di un/a figlio/a. Lo scorso anno il ‘’Premio SIICA-AIRC Ricercata’’ è stato assegnato alla ricercatrice Claudia Alicata, finanziando un progetto di genomica presso l’Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù di Roma, per migliorare le prospettive di cura nei pazienti affetti da leucemia, supportando la ricercatrice nel rientro alla sua attività di ricerca dopo la gravidanza.

❤Il “Premio Ricercata 2025” promosso da AIRC, SIICA e NIBIT lancia un messaggio di apertura da parte del mondo scientifico rispetto alla genitorialità, spesso ancora vista come un limite per la carriera delle ricercatrici.
