Every atheist I've debated eventually lands here: if God is real, why can't we see him? I used to fumble this. Then I read 1 Timothy 1:17.

Paul is mid-argument about grace and his own conversion when he breaks suddenly into praise:

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever."

"Eternal," "immortal," and "the only God" make sense as praise. But invisible? We don't praise men for being unseen. Why does Paul list it as something as glorious as the majesty and immortality of God?

Unless invisibility is not a limitation. Unless it is out of gracious design.

Paul met the unmediated light of Christ on the road to Damascus, he was knocked into the dirt, and blind for three days. He knows what the alternative to invisible feels like. It produced collapse, not worship. His praise is a survivor's testimony.

When people ask for God to be visible, they don't understand what full divine visibility would actually require.

God is omnipresent in essence. Therefore, total divine visibility fundamentally requires omnipresent visibility.

If God reveals Himself to the fullest extent of His capacity, He must be visible everywhere, at all times.

In the room you closed the door to. In the moment you spent your life believing nobody was watching. A visible, omnipresent God is not majestic; He is psychologically catastrophic. Nobody wants this, not even the devout.

Look at Isaiah 6. The prophet sees merely the hem of God's garment filling the temple, not the full glory of God, just the overflow. His response? "Woe to me, I am undone." A partial glimpse unmade him completely.

God isn't after bland empirical agreement. James already ended that: the demons believe, and tremble.
Intellectual assent is a bar the devil clears daily.

God isn't running a census of the convinced; He is seeking genuine love. And genuine love requires genuine choice, which requires that the object of love not be overwhelming.

This is why women despise love bombing. A man who floods your psychological space until refusal becomes impossible isn't loving you, he is eliminating the conditions for love. The "yes" he extracts is engineered by exhaustion.

God does the exact opposite. He veils His glory precisely so that you retain the dignity of saying no. The love bomber makes himself so large that you have no choice. God makes Himself small enough that you do.

Which brings us directly to the Incarnation.

The Incarnation is God making Himself visible enough to be known, but small enough to be rejected without fuss.

It is the most precise solution to the most precise problem: God doesn't arrive as a sky-filling terror, but as a baby in a manger in a backwater town. You can walk past a carpenter from Nazareth. You cannot walk past the throne of Isaiah 6.

The Bible is already clear that every knee will bow, a day of compelled reality as certain as the sun. But God is not eager for a forced crowd. Right now, He is seeking the single, freely given return of a heart in love.

When an atheist asks why he cannot see God, he is asking a better question than he knows. The answer is not absence. The answer is restraint.

Now one can finally understand why Paul says INVISIBLE, and means it as highest acclaim. It is not a limitation, it is a mercy.

THE HAUSA BIBLE NOW GOT IT.

Finally, the Hausa Bible got it right. In 2014, the Bible Society of Nigeria ( BSN) was moved to call for a summit at Bishop Court in Jos. The SIM, The Seminary & The Hausa Community were represented. Reverend Ishaya Garba now retired, stood alone to argue on the name "Allah" in the Hausa Bible. He argued that, the name Allah is not a Hausa word Hence not the representation of the Supreme God in Hausa.Thus, it should be removed & be substituted with Yahweh, If there wasn't yet the proper name to be used. That it is better to go Jewish than Arabic. Ubangiji Yahweh, not Ubangiji Allah. Unfortunately, the argument couldn't scale through. There was fear of persecution by Hausa brethren if "Allah" was removed: no consensus was reached. But thanks to God on Sept 4, 2021 there was another Summit. The convener is a renowned former Moslem, Malam Nuhu Ibrahim Almasih. The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) & scholars came together. The outcome was a great success. Finally, the Name "Allah" is replaced with " MAI DUKKAH" It is now cleared that, Allah is not the Hausa name for the Supreme Being hence Mai Dukkah, Ubangiji Mai Dukkah replaces Allah as a more suitable Hausa equivalent name of Yahweh - the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Any Christian who calls the name Allah, is on his/her own. Glory to God.

I AM SO HAPPY THAT PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT HAVE BEEN EDUCATING HAUSA CHRISTIANS ABOUT THE NAME ALLAH ARE VINDICATED TODAY .

The above is worthy to be celebrated, the name Allah is hereby removed from the hausa Bible to be replaced with "Mai Dukkah".

I Pray that Arab Christians will also take this bold step like the Hausa Christains and remove the name Allah from the Arabic Bible and replace it with the original generic name of God in Arabic call Ilah(ILAH) before the coming of Islam into Arabia . Allah is a name for a specific god but not the generic title for God..
Allah is Personal name of the Islamic deity just like Yahweh is the personal name of the Judeo-Christian Supreme being.

Yoruba traditionalists need to sue on what grounds?

That a religious organization expresses its tenets through art?

This glorification of "African Spirituality" only signals ignorance of the true nature of ATR.

Historian Elizabeth Isichei noted that in the eighteenth century, Asaba;

There was a customary chiefly ascension rite involving the killing of two slaves, and additional killings at the funerary rites of chiefs.

This means that human beings were killed on a large scale for politico-theological reasons.

Furthermore, she notes other practices that stemmed from ATR before missionary contact reformed many of them:

Infanticide. The abandonment of twins.

Isichei reported that in the Igbo-speaking region in 1879, after "a missionary attack on the practice," Samuel Ajayi Crowther remarked:

"This is the first year that a direct attack has ever been made against heathenish superstition."

Should we talk about the moral-legal jurisprudential practice of truth-seeking that involved taking a toxic substance, the Esere Bean, in Calabar?

In a nineteenth-century episode reported in a Cambridge documentary chapter on Old Calabar, the ordeal is presented as mass-lethal:

"At the death of King Eyamba in 1834," roughly fifty family members "seemed to have taken the esere bean ordeal," and "forty died."

This is the "African Spirituality" that many now glorify.

You have no idea what you are calling for.

The increase in ritual killings witnessed in Southwest Nigeria over the past six years is consequential to African herbalists using human parts in concoctions for 'Yahoo boys.'

There are rituals in which an entire human body is burnt and turned into powder, then mixed with oils that the Yahoo boy applies, supposedly to increase his chances of successful fraud.

I know this firsthand. I grew up in Ife.

Whenever people died, say, a suspected thief was publicly lynched, people would come, cut up the corpse, and take parts of it.

Why? They wanted to use human parts for charms. Where do they go to make these enchantments?

African traditionalists.

African spirituality is inherently ritualistic, and morality is not atomized to the individual but to the community.

This was why it was easy to kill some people for the 'good of the collective' in pre-colonial African society.

Christianity came and introduced the sort of morality that universalized moral worth and conferred inherent moral worth on the individual.

African Spirituality is demonic, and it should not be espoused by anyone.

So, we thank God that Mount Zion has done an incredible job of shedding light on its barbarism.

When Yoruba movies portray ritual killing for money as socially acceptable, no one sues them.

Mount Zion will go on and go up, by God's grace. Amen.

Anyone living in sexual sins (fornication, adultery, pornography, etc), has no place in Christian ministry. Immorality is a very big deal, scripturally. The believer's BODY is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Yes, the BODY. Therefore, what you do with God's dwelling place must be of colossal significance. Don't you see it?

And, because of the sacredness of Christian ministry, while you can legitimately be a struggling Believer for a season, you cannot be a struggling minister, if the struggle is that you have not overcome sexual immorality. In this regard, the category of a struggling minister does not exist, biblically considered.

This is not about being a "wounded soldier." But in any case, if a soldier takes a bullet during combat, we don't hand him over to the enemies, yes. And we also don't leave him in the frontline to continue fighting – with his wound. We take him out and away for treatment. Whether he can even return to active duty later on depends on the severity/impact of the 'wound' sustained and the assessment of the team managing his case. Taking him out of combat is a responsible act of love and not a case of "condemning our own."

Back from the digression. It is alien to the spirit of Christ, to say someone is a minister of the gospel, even though he commits immorality. The practice of immorality cannot coexist with legitimate practice of ministry. A fornicator or an adulterer is not a Minister. Cannot be.

A minister of the gospel MUST be above reproach. People MUST be safe under his care. Money, too, MUST be safe under his care. The bible insists that he sustains a high level of integrity – morally, ethically, socially.
This is why the Charismata, the gifts of the Spirit are never mentioned as qualification or eligibility for ministry. Check the texts.

So, the practice of equating giftedness with eligibility for ministry is unbiblical and should be discouraged. Being a gifted speaker, for instance, does not qualify anyone for Christian ministry. If you know all the Rhema in the book, and all the historic fine points of orthodoxy, but you're an intermittent fornicator/adulterer, you are ineligible for Christian Ministry. You need to be discipled, you should not be discipling anyone, at all.
Read the passage below carefully, to the very last verse, please: It says a Pastor:
"...must be a good man whose life cannot be spoken against. He must have only one wife, and he must be hard working and thoughtful, orderly, and full of good deeds. He must enjoy having guests in his home and must be a good Bible teacher. He must not be a drinker or quarrelsome, but he must be gentle and kind and not be one who loves money. He must have a well-behaved family, with children who obey quickly and quietly. For if a man can’t make his own little family behave, how can he help the whole church? The pastor must not be a new Christian because he might be proud of being chosen so soon, and pride comes before a fall. (Satan’s downfall is an example.)  Also, he must be well spoken of by people outside the church—those who aren’t Christians—so that Satan can’t trap him with many accusations and leave him without freedom to lead his flock"

On the last point above, many people who work in Hotels don't take the church seriously because the see the behind-the-scenes lifestyle of Pastors. A minister must have one life, must be not be two-faced. And he must be an example to both insiders and outsiders.

If the church is weak, Satan is only a remote cause. If the church is weak anywhere, the church is the reason why.

And now, may the glorious Lord of the church step into this seeming perpetual desolation, and pour us the blessing that is Revival.

@BigMikeNG_ @d_ocheido In times of waiting, the believer should hold on to and believe in God’s word until they see the result. This may not be easy, as hope deferred can make the heart sick, but constant renewal in and by God’s word will help you trust Him.

Praying in faith doesn’t mean we’ll always get "exactly" what we want, "how we" want it. It means knowing that God hears us and will answer in the best possible way.

When the doctors told me that they could not see any baby in the scan and that my pregnancy was not there anymore, what kept me believing was that God showed me my child

It was as clear as day

I saw my child as a little boy running around as a toddler. He was cute and healthy and perfect

That’s how I knew I was carrying a boy even before my 20 week scan

Because He showed me

And so event on days when the doctor’s report was crazy,

Even on days when I was bleeding,

Even when I started to leak amniotic fluid
and I felt all the pain and all the signs were very negative, i kept holding on

Because He showed me

What do you think kept Joseph from going crazy in the prison?

It’s not because he was super human

It was because God showed him his future. He saw His star shining bright.

And so even when he was sold into slavery, even when he was lied on by Portiphar’s wife

He kept holding on

Because God showed him tomorrow.

And this is one of the importance of prophecy. It’s that peep into tomorrow that we can hold and we can believe no matter what is happening in the present

The Bible says we know in part and we prophecy in part, but that “part” is super important.

This is why Jesus described heaven to us in details. So that we can always have hope

And so when you pray, seek to see part. Seek to understand part.

Many times , it is the part you seem and the glimpse you have peeped into that will sustain you in dark days.

And there is no more sure word of prophecy than what is written in scripture. Open your Bible and see.
