Why it’s fake
• No official Sony announcement exists. Extensive searches of recent news, Sony’s official site, and Sony Honda Mobility (their actual car project) turn up nothing about a flying car, let alone one “about to launch.”
Sony’s real mobility efforts are ground vehicles only:
• VISION-S electric vehicle concepts.
• AFEELA (with Honda) — a production EV car with deliveries planned for late 2020s.
• The video is AI-generated or high-end CGI.
It has all the hallmarks of AI/CGI concept art: perfect cinematic lighting, studio setting only (no real-world testing, people, outdoor flight, or certification marks), retractable wheels that don’t make practical sense for a real flying car, and overly dramatic effects. Multiple replies on the post itself immediately called it out as AI-generated.
