@MagicalMisto He huffed a deep breath. "Was just...trying to hunt for food for us...that car came outta nowhere..." He groaned lightly again, eyelids heavy as he looked at the other. "Wish I could say I was being heroic...jus...fetching dinner, 's all." He smacked his lips. They felt so dry.
@MagicalMisto He licked his lips and yawned, slowly leaning forward to rest his head against his mate's. "Me too." He was quiet for a long time, his brain still slow to work. "The kits...who...wh-where are they?"
@MagicalMisto He groaned softly and let his head drop to the floor of the cat bed. “Mnh......” His vision was finally focused enough that he could see his mate. “Missed you.”
@MagicalMisto He purred in return and sluggishly shifted closer to him, the sound cut short when the small movement brought him pain. "Oww," he whimpered quietly.
@MagicalMisto The tabby made a sound that was part meow, part purr. Half asleep but slowly waking, he mumbled and moved closer to what felt like the softest pillow ever. He heard the voice, but thought he was dreaming. “Mmm...Misto?”
@MagicalMisto Behind the door was a spacious room with cat condos and scratching posts in every corner, and plushies and toys galore. The walls were brightly colored and had shelves and lofty platforms perfect for perching. But the tabby was in no shape to perch, climb, or scratch. He lay-
@MagicalMisto “Aww what’s wrong kitty? Are you okay? You hungry? I might have something here for you to eat. Let me go look.” She closed the door. The cat door, however, was left unlocked.
@MagicalMisto She reached down and petted him. "Aren't you adorable!" She gently scratched his ears. "Tiger can't play right now, he's in his bed upstairs, resting."
@MagicalMisto He nodded slowly, a faraway look in his eyes. “Yes. Go see your mate. Spend time with him while you can. At the end, all you have is memories. Make sure they’re great.”
@MagicalMisto He blinked lazily in shock, looking at the objects that weren't there moments ago. "Wow..." He smiled, keeping to himself the sad truth that he could no longer keep any food or liquids down. "That's some kind of gift ya got, kit. Thank you."
@MagicalMisto The calico gave him a doubtful look, not fully believing him, having never seen a magical cat before. But he appreciated the kindness. So he shrugged with a tired smirk. "Surprise me."
@MagicalMisto He hacked up, turning away to spare the tux the sight of spitting out blood. “You got magic that can heal my bum liver?” He shook his head, breathing in short huffs. “Never ya mind about me kit, it’s my time. Everyone’s time comes eventually. ‘S mine now. I lived a decent life.”
@MagicalMisto He chuckled, the sound weary. “Not unless you’re good friends with the almighty creator and can buy me some more time.” He shivered, though the look on his face was a relaxed one. “They’re putting me down tomorrow.”
@MagicalMisto The calico hacked a few times. “Your mate eh?” He blinked slowly and hacked again. “Yea, I remember him, he was in here earlier. Got hit pretty good on the head. His humans took him home, bout an hour ago.”
@MagicalMisto There's no sign of the silver tabby in the operating room. Instead, sitting in a kennel in the recovery area is a sickly calico hooked up to an IV. He twitches, staring at the tux through lazy yellows eyes. "Where's your humans, kit? You best find them before Doc finds you."
