Glass is now easier to recycle in Summit County. You can put glass directly into your single-stream recycling bin for curbside pickup. You can also keep using the free local recycling centers. Clear and colored glass no longer have to be separated at our local drop sites.

The Silverthorne Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are responding to a report of a missing child at Willow Grove Open Space. This situation is under investigation and more information will be shared when available.
The child is wearing a green sweatshirt, blue jean shorts, and white Velcro Nikes. A photo of the missing child is attached. Community members are asked to please call 911 or non-emergency dispatch at 970-668-8600 if they have information.
UPDATE 7:04 p.m.: The evacuation for the area surrounding N Chimpunk and N Golden Eagle has ended, and residents are welcome to return to their homes. Xcel Energy is repairing the high-pressure gas line and will provide additional information regarding gas service.
Summit Fire & EMS is on scene managing the gas leak and Xcel Energy is aware of the incident involving their gas line. Residents in the area outside the evacuation zone are asked not to turn lights on or off, or other electrical devices, as a safety precaution.
Around 3:45 p.m., a contractor was boring in the N Chipmunk and N Golden Eagle Ln area and hit a high-pressure gas line, causing a gas leak. Silverthorne PD is on scene to evacuate an area of 500 feet around the area & evacuees are being directed to the Silverthorne Rec. Center.
The Silverthorne Police Department has issued an evacuation order for the area of N. Golden Eagle/ N. Chipmunk Lane due to a gas main break. Please leave the area immediately.
