Behind every local business is someone who took a chance on a dream, and a community that helps keep it going.

Here in Oakville West, our small businesses bring so much to our neighbourhoods. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, picking up a gift, or sharing a favourite shop with a friend, your support makes a difference.

Let’s keep showing up for them. Shop local, choose Canadian, and help our community thrive!

Less paperwork. Faster services. More time for what matters.

Our government is committed to cutting red tape. Bill S-7 supports that goal by proposing changes to reduce unnecessary administrative barriers and make it easier to build, invest, and grow in Canada, while maintaining strong protections for Canadians and our environment.

[Prime Minister of Canada @CanadianPM]

This year, Canada faced a significant wildfire season.

We extend our deep gratitude to firefighters across the country – including those from abroad – emergency personnel, community leaders, volunteers, and Canadian Armed Forces members, for their sacrifice and dedication.

Canada has what the world needs.

Together with my Nuclear Caucus Co-Chair MP James Maloney, we welcomed CANDU Energy and AtkinsRéalis to discuss Canada’s Nuclear Energy Strategy and opportunities at home and abroad.

Canadian CANDU technology can help meet growing global energy needs while supporting skilled jobs and innovation here at home.

Canadians deserve compassionate care, dignity, and support when facing serious illness.

Our government intends to introduce legislation this fall to end the planned expansion of medical assistance in dying (MAID) where mental illness is the sole underlying condition, and allow advance requests for adults diagnosed with an incurable illness that is expected to take away their decision-making capacity.

Advance requests would not mean automatic access to MAID. Strict eligibility requirements and strong safeguards would remain essential, alongside access to meaningful treatment and care.

Women have shaped Canada’s history, and continue to shape its future.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women who broke barriers, fought for equality, and opened doors for generations to come, including those making a difference here in Oakville West.

Honouring their legacy means continuing the work: ensuring every woman and girl has the opportunity to lead, succeed, and live safely.
