Today, I presented the 2026 Appropriation proposal of N1.854Trillion to the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Tagged, Budget of Resilience for Growth and Development. Our intention is to sustain the economic growth, expand critical infrastructure and improve the welfare of our people.
The proposal entails N413.11 billion for recurrent expenditure and N1.405 trillion for capital projects which underscores my administration's commitment to accelerating development across the State especially capturing all sectors of our economy.
Today, I joined Vice President @KashimSM who represented President @officialABAT at the 163rd Army Day Celebration held in Port Harcourt.
It was a significant event not just for the @HQNigerianArmy celebrating their sacrifices, resilience and enduring legacies in defending the nation, but also a clear endorsement and affirmation of the prevailing peace and safety of Rivers State.
We appreciate the commitment of Mr. President for the unflinching support to the improvement of the Nigerian Army, just as we, on our part, will continue to ensure optimum operations of all security agencies in our dear State.

Today, I received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu and his entourage on a courtesy visit. We are pleased that the Nigerian Army decided to celebrate its anniversary in our State which reaffirms the fact that our State is safe and secure.
We used the visit to assure the Nigerian Army of our consistent support as they have assisted in improving revenue generation for our dear country by reducing pipeline vandalism and oil bunkering.
Yesterday, I visited the site of the collapsed building on Peter Odili Road. It was indeed an unfortunate incident that could have been avoided.
As rescue operations are ongoing, I have ordered the immediate closure of the site pending proper investigations.
I understand that several efforts by the State regulatory authority to monitor the project to ensure conformity with standards were waved off. Our concerns were never about interference, but about safeguarding lives and ensuring adherence to construction regulations and standards.
We are deeply touched by the loss of human lives, as such misfortune should not have occured in modern times when professional standards and safety measures are expected to guide construction activities.
However, I commiserate with the families of the deceased and sympathise with those injured. I believe that the government will keep doing its best to mitigate future occurrences.
As Muslims across our nation celebrate Eid al-Adha, I extend warm wishes to all faithful for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
May this season of sacrifice, faith and love strengthen our unity and bring blessings to every home.
Eid Mubarak.
Yesterday, I inspected the extent of the ongoing work at the State Secretariat Complex and I was impressed with the quality and pace of work.
The rate of work indicates that by the first quarter of 2027 the job will be fully delivered. As earlier promised, I assure our people that every ongoing project initiated by me in the State will be completed by the grace of God.
Today, we inspected the ongoing Ipo-Igwuruta/Airport road project and we were impressed with the work so far done. The road was conceived in response to repeated disruptions along the airport road by agitated community members over certain issues in the past. Considering the effect, we embarked on the project in December and today it is already at an advanced stage of completion.
We are determined to ensure that every project embarked upon by our administration is completed in due time as we will continue to put the interest of Rivers people first.
Today, I inspected the ongoing construction of the 25-unit six-bedroom flats being built for Commissioners and Special Advisers.
Our administration's intent is to cut rental costs for senior government officials and improve their productivity as well as enhance their security.
Considering the pace of work by the contractors, we are hopeful of completing the project within the stipulated timeframe. This will enable us to commission the housing project by November.
Today, l inspected the new Creek Road Market in Old Port Harcourt township and I am pleased with the steady progress recorded at the project site.
This project is a deliberate step we are taking to provide safe, organised and dignified trading environment for our people, while also creating the necessary space for the ongoing construction of internal road networks that will improve access and mobility within the area.
I was honoured to host and address our revered traditional rulers at the Southern Traditional Rulers Council Roundtable in Port Harcourt. I affirmed, “our beloved Rivers State is peaceful and always ready to host engagements that promote unity and development.”
Together, we must remain committed to strengthening southern unity by fostering peace and advancing the collective progress of our people and the nation under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Yesterday, I joined the good people of Opobo Kingdom and Rivers State to pay tribute to our revered monarch, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V who transited at the age of 83.
At the funeral service, we reflected on his life and legacy. He lived an honourable life marked by calmness and dignity even in the face of adversity, he lived a life worthy of emulation.
We will forever remember him for his mien, composure and fatherly leadership. During his proactive reign, the Kingdom graced the state with eminent citizens including a deputy governor and a governor.
Our condolences go to the members of the bereaved royal family as we urge them to continue to value the importance of unity and personal industry.
Congratulations @ 74 to His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I was quite pleased to receive the Muslim Ummah in Rivers State on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr.
The visit was another opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to enhancing peace and unity in our State. We will continue to foster harmony and the protection of all residents so as to strengthen our collective prosperity.
