Tonight at BDBC the mask slipped.

The so-called “independents”, Lib Dems, Labour & Greens voted together as a coordinated bloc to shut Conservatives out of key scrutiny & leadership roles.

Only when we demanded recorded votes did they back down enough for a single chairmanship.

So much for “collaboration”. Residents can now see who is really running the council. #Basingstoke

Tonight’s Annual Parish Assembly with Monk Sherborne Parish Council ✅

A good evening discussing local issues, village life, solar farms and protecting the character of our rural communities.

These meetings are a reminder of how much hard work local volunteers and parish councillors put in behind the scenes.

Tonight it was Wootton St Lawrence with Ramsdell Parish Council at Ramsdell Village Hall. Great to hear updates from local clubs, organisations and fellow councillors working hard for village life.

Hopefully we didn’t disturb the nesting blue tits outside the hall! 🐦

Another great Sunday at the Basingstoke Festival of Transport 🚗

Huge thanks to the volunteers from Rotary International for organising such a brilliant event. Thankfully the weather stayed dry — if a little cloudy!

Glad I could do my bit too by taking a Ford EV for a test drive, helping raise a £30 donation from Group 1 Ford ⚡👍

Disappointing to see several of the brass rubbing plaques on the Spinney trail have been stolen. 😞

I’ve been advised by the Land Trust that the rubbing trail will be replaced, so this is only temporary. Thanks everyone for bearing with it while new plaques are installed.

These little features make a big difference for families enjoying our green spaces. 🌿🦋

A fantastic day out for all the family with over 800 assorted vehicles, auto jumble, trade stalls and plenty to see throughout the day.

📍 Access from London Road, RG21 4BY
🕚 11am – 4pm
🚘 Car park opens from 9.30am (£5 per car)
🎟️ Free public entry

A brilliant local event that also helps raise funds for new CTG machines for the Maternity Unit at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital through Hampshire Hospitals Charity.

If you’re looking for something to do today, definitely worth a visit! 🚙✨

Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm today.

If you’re heading out to vote, please don’t forget your photo ID — you’ll need it to be able to cast your vote.
