@JoelBSperanza @Smedboule I tell new Year 7 enrolments how fun Science is in high school because you get to cut things up and blow things up. Risk assessment on this might be a bit of a stretch though!!!
@SoniaNelson228 @sdinhamunimelb Students tend not to be disruptive when they are engaged. Learning management can then take over behaviour manage. Simple things like this work. Good stuff.
@RonTaylor_FHS @NicoleDyson@fastcrayon Love it. Focus on learning. Checking for understanding. I could go on. Do our teachers have the tools in the kitbag to do this efficiently and effectively?
Thoughtful piece about social justice, disadvantage and the "pupil premium" (which notes in particular that the premium was intended to be a proxy for school-level disadvantage, rather than a way of identifying individual "at risk" students)
@KellyBowman2 @sdinhamunimelb My apologies Kelly. I was referring to Stephen’s comment on entry standards into undergrad Ed degrees not the Australian Professional Standards for teachers. I have heard some comments that other measures are used for uni entry, especially for students with a very low ATAR.
@JanOwenAM Loved Vietnam. You can tell it is progressing and all our tour guides linked it to opening up. Their infrastructure is great. Wi Fi in the van to Halong Bay (while dodging a few buses and trucks) was normal. Why do Oz visitors have to pay for Wi Fi???
@swissfondue63 @BrionyScott@PreslandChris Interesting. Keep in mind you could get the same calamity in a school using a basketball. Continuous bouncing in a classroom, passing it around instead of doing a worksheet or excluding a student from a game... wait that’s bullying. No question. Ban basketballs as well.
