@Zig_and_Sharko@HodlAlabama @Phorcys12 @antonioguterres 4/4 The Earth feels large compared to us mere humans, but the population is approaching 8 billions. We can pollute cities so bad that the air becomes unsafe for us. Does it feel that much of a stretch that all those transformations can have an impact on the climate over time?
@Zig_and_Sharko@HodlAlabama @Phorcys12 @antonioguterres 3/4 We Humans have transformed this Earth. We’ve reshaped most of the land for our use, including close to 40% of the land used for farming. We’ve eliminated most of the wild life.
@Zig_and_Sharko@HodlAlabama @Phorcys12 @antonioguterres 2/3 The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is unprecedented. We understand very well how CO2 increases the greenhouse effect, we can reproduce it easily through experiments, we can look at Venus, a planet that has a CO2 rich atmosphere with a surface temperature over 400c.
@Zig_and_Sharko@HodlAlabama @Phorcys12 @antonioguterres 1/3 You’re definitely right that the climate changes naturally. The problem today is the rate at which the climate is changing. It is so fast that species won’t have time to adapt, causing mass extinction events.
@Selame23@Jimmy36083189 @mmbearlove @PatrioticPizzas Entry price for a model 3 in the US is 47k, Ioniq 5 is 43.5k, and on top of it you get a $7500 tax rebate with the ioniq that you don’t get with the model 3
@MichelLoenngren In that episode, he doesn’t get punished. The good guy (or woman, Susan) gets punished instead and dies from George’s actions. I think it felt a bit out of place in Seinfeld. It wasn’t really funny and makes you like the characters less.
@MichelLoenngren That episode actually made me feel uneasy. Usually George puts himself into terrible situations because he is very selfish. When he gets out of them it’s always shameful for him, everyone sees that he is a con. He ends up being punished somehow for his behavior.
