My parents were in the middle of an argument when my dad proudly said, “I bought you a house and a car,” and my mum casually responded, “That’s standard procedure.” LMAOOO
Boys aren't raised to be men. They're raised to not be girls. That's the root of so much misogyny. Society doesn't teach boys empathy, emotional honesty, or respect for women as equals, it teaches them to suppress vulnerability, dominate, and fear anything "feminine." They're rewarded for aggression and punished for kindness. And when adulthood hits, these habits don't just vanish, they manifest as entitlement, objectification, and sexism.
It’s the parents responsibility to appropriately handle their own emotional dysregulation. A cranky, moody, emotionally immature, hypersensitive parent shouldn’t take it out on their child. Growing up w parents that were unable to process and handle their emotions creates adults that are extremely sensitive and hyperaware of the emotions of those around them to the point of anxiety and fear as they feel it’s their responsibility now to regulate it.
“Do you want kids” actually I want to be so deeply and safely inlove with a genuine, handsome, considerate, emotionally intelligent, healed provider of a man that the only feasible next option is to make him a father.
“But men are not allowed to express themselves.”
Yet y’all express your lust, horniness, and need to control women very strongly. But showing empathy is where the line is crossed for y’all, smh.
