@johngibbonsblog Haha ….that £900m payment would come back from the
through multiple off-shore trusts & investment vehicles 10p at a time like a Kay’s catalogue weekly long term payment scheme of old
When I wrote about this image rights sham for The Independent in 2018, Manchester City threatened to sue us and demanded I tweet out a personal apology on here. We fought them. They did not sue us.
City's sham is confirmed by the Premier League today https://t.co/Fzemh3f8CA
@AdrianTempany@MiguelDelaney Surely that would be a liability the other way around. City exposed their auditors and knowingly lied to them. Corporate fraud for 9 years….
Then there is the HMRC case against them for 9+ years of criminal tax evasion with ‘dual contracts’
@TheRedmenTV Tricky times for the SportsCity Suffragettes 🤣
(Nicked that off @johngibbonsblog ….really made me laugh and thought I’d spread the gag :-)
@AdamCrafton_@Knox_Harrington They’ve drunk ALL the Cool-Aid…..
It will be the same insane sportswashed gaslight nonsense of the radicalised fans that they’ve shown over the last days/years…..
No change and just repeating ‘RedCartel’ conspiracy theory!
@MiguelDelaney What’s your thoughts Miguel on those City execs committing what was tantamount to perjury at the CAS hearing after UEFAs guilty verdict? Would UEFA have the option to look at that again and re-charge / re-sanction them?
Wega reportedly paid Man City around £4m in sponsorship. Its UK representative, Gleevest Capital Ltd, was registered at a residential address near Watford and had just £14,752 turnover and £1,229 in assets. A UAE resident was also listed as a person with significant control.
Do any of you remember when a company called Wega sponsored Man City and were registered to a PO Box but had absolutely no staff, no assets, no products, virtually no revenue and somehow sponsored Man City for like £40 million and are listed as an official sponsor?
Man City: “We have indisputable evidence.”
Premier League: “Brilliant, can we see it?”
Man City: “Absolutely not. We’ll fight tooth and nail through every court possible to make sure you never get your hands on it. Cheers.”
As to the argument football clubs never actually go bust
Doesn't matter. Real people lose jobs and mortgages, amid huge stress. Shouldn't happen in a game awash with money

𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩?
Technically, yes. Practically, no.
The next route of appeal is Section X arbitration. But it will only entertain an appeal on very limited grounds which are HIGHLY unlikely to apply.
Man City would need to show that the decision fell outside the Appeal Board’s jurisdiction; or that they reached their decision due to fraud, malice or bad faith; or that there was a serious procedural error which clearly and substantially prejudiced Man City’s rights; or that there was a perverse interpretation of the law; or that the sanctions applied were perverse.
We’re talking less than 1% chance of an appeal being granted on this basis. And waaaay less chance it’s actually won.
As for an appeal to the High Court? Virtually no chance. Less than 0.01%.
PL rules require this matter be resolved in arbitration and not the courts. City already contested jurisdiction at the High Court and Court of Appeal and lost both times. They can’t just try the same thing again. For them to get it to the High Court, they’d have to show perverse judgments sustained across the Commission, Appeal Board and Section X arbitration. It’s just not a remotely realistic possibility.
The reality here is they’re done for and any appeal process should be wrapped up by this Summer. If they’re unnecessarily slow again, I’d still expect it to be sorted before the end of 2027. Especially now the rules are more explicit on speed.
𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣?
Why would they do any different? They have a long season to play out. It’s going to be hell for their players and staff at away games. They don’t want the same at home games and need to keep the fans on side for as long as possible. That means gaslighting them some more. And for many, it’s clearly working. They’ve spent years laying the foundations for the narratives that they’re running now.
But narratives don’t change the facts and the facts are they’re cooked. Finito.
