I’m excited to announce a new feature-length documentary project I’m working on with my co-director @apoolos about Russia’s efforts to eradicate Evangelical Christians from the map of Ukraine to impose Russian Orthodoxy as the state religion. A year and a half ago Trump stopped helping Ukraine defend itself, and put pressure on Zelenskyy to make a deal with Russia.
Now, Trump is actively supporting Putin: waiving sanctions, disrupting StarShield, and making a diesel deal. (1/3)
EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.
Donald Trump has a new scapegoat ahead of the midterm elections: Volodymyr Zelensky. In my latest Weekend Update I get into how Trump’s blame game isn’t going to help him ahead of the midterms — and it might actually end up, inadvertently, hurting Russia too. Full post link below
I don’t usually join panels, but given the news and my presence on the ground, I was asked to weigh in. Here’s my response to a panelist who appeared to be defending Vladimir Putin amid Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine:
“Do you want to save Ukrainian civilian lives, or would you rather hinder and kneecap what’s supposed to be your ally in its fight for survival against Russia? That’s simply what it comes down to now.”
I just don't get why US conservatives see Russia as a defender of Christian values while its forces kill Ukrainian Christians, shut churches and torture pastors. My new documentary, See You in Heaven, tells this story. Thanks @professorgerdes for having me on to discuss it.
We’re working to finish “See You in Heaven,” a documentary exposing Russia’s persecution of Ukrainian Christians—many of whom have been forced to flee, imprisoned, tortured, or killed.
We need your help to finish the film and bring this story to a national audience.
